Any better estimates for Test Track than "fall 2012"?

Everywhere I've looked, Test Track is scheduled to reopen "fall 2012." Anyone know any more concrete date? DS and I are heading down for a quick trip the second week of October, which is just into the beginning of fall, but a girl can dream, can't she? (actually, I don't really care, but it's DS's favorite attraction). When they redid Pirates several years ago, we got to go on it as a "soft opening," and maybe we'd get lucky with Test Track.

I'd love to know also. Looks like we'll be down the same time, arriving Oct. 7th. We were down in May and missed going on it. Maybe we'll get lucky and Fall 2012 means early Fall... :cool1:

Not going to be done until after turkey day. Wish i had better news for you but that is the way it is.

The original date had been given as November 30. I would expect it no earlier than that.

We'll survive. We're (at this moment) planning to go as a family in March, so something new to look forward to! Just means we have more time to see Captain Eo multiple times.

Is TT undergoing any substantial change, or is this just routine maintenance?

Last I heard, they were a bit behind schedule. Might be more realistic to say late December or early January.

Great. I'm down there December 10-17 and not lookiing good.

I wouldn't give up hope yet. Your dates are after the current expected reopen date. It certainly could be delayed, but it also could open on time.

It has been stated on here many times that TT opened 18 months later than it was first announced.

So, it's hard for me to get excited about any date they release.

Yes. But since the ride itself is apparently not being changed, the analogy is not a great one IMO. :goodvibes

Since we're going the second week of December and TT was one of our family's very favorite rides, I'm going to be self-serving and agree with your line of thinking! :thumbsup2

(Actually, I do happen to agree with you -- if the track and the ride mechanics aren't changing, I don't necessarily think that we'll see those same long delays. That said, I am not holding my breath for December.)

I was only thinking of the fact that it started late. I did not think of the fact that the mechanical aspect of the ride is not changing, so it is not a good analogy.

Someone admitting they were wrong, should I get an award? :)

What would you like? ;)

It could very well be late, and I'm honestly suspicious of that Dec 1 date too. But I don't have much to base that gut feeling on.

Money is always great. Especially a significant amount.

But seriously folks, my pessimism about the date is just gut too. Since a majority of the work is inside, it is much harder to get a sense of the work being done than with New Fantasyland.

I hope you're not being sarcastic or anything...but that's my mind set too XD I actually love Captain EO :3dglasses and TT, of course. I'm planning a lot of trips to see Captain EO since TT is closed. Wish it'd be open for my trip October 4-13 but there's always next year. :)

Ha! No, not sarcastic .. I saw it for the first time in June and thought it was terrific. DS is a big music guy (professional musician), and is excited about seeing it, so I'm sure we'll see it more than once. We'll be there at the same time, Katie! We're getting in the 8th and leaving the 11th -- quick trip, I know, but it'll scratch the itch for a while.

I hope so. I think the only other ride that would bother me more being down for a trip would be Soarin'. If that went down I would plan my vacation around the closure.
