It was my birthday 2 weeks ago and our DLP tripped was booked, partly for dd and partly for my birthday.

Because of school holidays, this weekend is the earliest we could go and I am wondering if it is worth mentioning to the hotel that it is my birthday trip. I know they will have my DOB, but obviously it was a while back.

Is there any benefit in giving them this information, any chance we may get a fastpass or similar, or am I hoping too much?

I would welcome your thoughts.

Thanks

they will give you a hpd pin and that is about it. when it was a year of a million dreams they did a lot more.

The OP is referring to Disneyland Paris. :)

K8T, you could contact the hotel a few days before by phone or send an email to Guest Communications (details under Booking/Contact info in Very Useful Info sticky) mentioning that it's your birthday trip - although it may be more effective if your other half (presuming you're going with someone else  ) was to contact them, it looks less like you're asking for something IYSWIM!

Some people have mentioned that they've been given VIP breakfast slots (very handy if you're staying at other than DLH or HNY), others have been given VIP fastpasses at the DLH, upgraded rooms, flowers, plushes ..... and others have been disappointed because they've had nothing ..... I see no harm in mentioning it then forget all about it and if you get sprinkled with pixie dust it will be a very nice surprise. :goodvibes

p.s. Belated birthday wishes to you!

always worth a try!!!!

altho, weve been twice on birthdays and never had a thing!!!!! (even with ds1 walkin round with a big birthday badge!)

i emailed the hotel about my hubbys birthday and we had balloons on our door and loads in our room, a message on the telly when we turned it on and then when we went to room for bed a large bunch of roses and 2 full size bolt dog stuffed toys for the kids so i would always tell them

Would it still be worth to email them even though we're staying in a partner hotel?
I mean would Guest Communication mind about me if i am not staying onsite??? :confused3

we went just before DD's birthday (5 days before) and told them it was her birthday we got a mug and sweets not really appropriate for her lol but I appreciated it! I did have a letter from hotel manager saying if I needed anything not to hesitate and contact them directly never did I wouldnt know what to ask for lol!

Only if you've booked your hotel through Disney. If you've booked it through another site then Disney wouldn't know anything about it and you'll need to contact the hotel direct. There's telephone numbers for all the offsite hotels in the Very Useful Info sticky. :)

Thanks Elaine, we've booked via another travel agency and so Disney dosn't know we will be' there. Never mind we've booked a Birthday cake and i am planning to get my self a badge ;)

Thanks, I may get Otherhalf to send an email!!

We booked direct with Disney, I was having a chat with the CM in the states about the fact we have booked for October at the YC and she was telling me her sister works there and asked my dates, so she may have done something for that instead.

Worth a try!!.

When I booked, the CM taking the booking realised that we would be there for Lotties 7th birthday and without me asking, said that she would make a note on the booking and sprinkle some pixie dust to see what she could do. I'm going to drop an email a few days before we go as we'd like to be in the same block as our friends, so will mention it in there. I'm amazed that I haven't yet told Lottie that we're going!

Just realised we cant be cheeky and do this for DS's birthday cause the booking is for my bf and myself and ds will be added on check in with our APs

I had to email them recently to find out about Insulin storage for my sister, i also mentioned how special the trip was as DH would be turning 30 and my parents will be having their 25th wedding anniversary shortly after, the lady that replied said she had put a note on our booking about the occasions, that she couldn't guarantee anything would be done but hoped the note on the system would help and to email/call closer to our arrival date.

So i'd say give it a go!

My birthday was right in the middle of our last trip, and although DFi emailed a few days before we left there was no extra pixie dust :confused3 We also got engaged whilst we were there which we mentioned in a few places, but there was no extra pixie dust for that either.

I think it really is luck of the draw, but worth sending the email! Our current plan is to go for my birthday again this year, and no doubt I'll sweet talk DFi into giving the email another shot!

Well he sent the email, very polite it was too.

Our dd doesn't know yet either. We are in Paris for a few days and have told her that we are moving hotels. Just going to see how long before she notices the signs etc., She is 7 now, so is pretty good at reading!!

Just finished packing (phew).

Will let you know whether any Pixie Dust is floating around.pixiedust:

Ooooh great idea! Hope you get sprinkled with loads of pixie dust!!

Just don't directly ask for something unless youre calling them and willing to pay for things.
