Any AP holders renewed since getting MBs?

I was not planning on renewing but the discount plus my daughter going this weekend convinced me. So once I renewed online last month I was able to order a new MB for my AP. My question is do I still need to go to GS to activate it? I also got my new Discount card (nicely tucked away in my wallet) we leave first thing tomorrow 6:45 (I live 60 miles from Disney) checking in and heading to MK. We are probably on driving to the park. Typically we drive in morning take bus back to resort for afternoon break, bus back to MK and then car back. Bus to Resort after Wishes not an option. My knees are dead by then and I can't stand up in the bus for the 10-20 min ride. By parking car early we usually get a close parking spot that won't even need to use the tram. I can walk it's the standing still that hurts after a while.
But I just need to know if I have to stop by TTC first to activate.
Any info appreciated!

I brought my renewal print out to guest services last weekend to have it "activated'.

The CM asked if I had a magic band (which I did from my old pass) so she took that and scanned it and said the new pass was already activated so she didn't have to do anything.
