Any Andy Griffith Show fans? Help!

I am planning a surprise b-day party for my mom and we have decided to go with Andy Griffith Show theme - her favorite show. Anyway, I am trying to figure out how to decorate my garage for it and I am STUMPED! I usually buy scene setters to set the mood (and hide my garage mess) but can't find or think of anything. I know how creative disers are and thought I could get some great ideas here. thanks!

How about having the party in your driveway instead? Rent a projector & play some old episodes of the show.

Have a fishing pole & tackle box propped up somewhere.

Use a good punch bowl, b/c that's what Aunt Bea would do.

Ya need a porch swing. They spent a lot of time on the front porch. Or you could do the inside of the jail.

How about not disguising the garage this year?
Parts of a number of episodes took place in Wally's Garage.
When I was looking for some ideas for you, I found a review of The Andy Griffith Show: The Complete Third Season DVD that mentions that DVD set has a 'Fun Wally's Garage Theme". Seeing that might give you some ideas.

I could envision a large sized old fashioned gas pump made of cardboard.

I remembered that Gomer and Goober (?) worked there, but I had to look up the name of the garage. I think that would be fun for a theme though.

Another thing you could do is make your garage into the Sheriff's office. That would be harder though. You can get rolls of brown paper. Hang it from the ceiling down to cover the stuff you want disguised. Rig up something to be the jail cells.
I think the Wally's garage idea would be easier.
