Our teen girls saved for a trip with Moms to DL, and don't have enough $$ left over to do Goofy's Kitchen. It is the best way I know to get the character interaction...pictures and fun.
I know WDW has an Ice Cream Social, it is mid-day and is around $10. I don't suppose DL has something like it?
I have seen the $10 birthday celebration at The Plaza (the girls are celebrating a birthday), but it sounds like it's for little kids and limited to just <wince> Mickey and Minnie. :)

Any ideas?
Thanks!

vickmey,
Story Tellers has Chip and Dale in the morning. You can order a la carte off the menu or you can get the buffet. When they first opened the restuarant, Chip and Dale used to come around to everyone's table, but they changed the format so that Chip and Dale just stay up front by the buffet and people come up to them, (if they want to).

My friend and I had breakfast at The PCH Grill in the Paradise Pier Hotel several weeks ago. We didn't want to pay for the buffet since we were both trying to watch what we ate. We were given several good options on a limited a la carte menu. It was very good and was around $10.00 each.

Minnie was there in a yellow dress with bright polka dots. Pluto came by to give us a friendly "lick" on the head, and Max (animaniacs?) did a great hand jive with all the kids. The characters were making the rounds, signing books and taking photos. It was VERY enjoyable (even for a couple of moms in their late 30's;) ) and we got some great photos!

"and Max (animaniacs?)"

Max is Goofy's Nephew from Goof Troop
That is who my daughter is DYING to see!!:)

Oops - I get the Dopey award today!!!

Of course, animaniacs isn't even Disney!! Will my WDW AP be revoked for that???? I'm SO embarassed!!!

Guess my kids need to educate me better. I knew who Stanley was immediately at DCA and even had my photo taken with him and his goldfish!

Make my apologies to Max when you see him at breakfast!!!!!

Thats it!! No Disney for you!!
Haha Just kidding!!!
Everyone is allowed to make ONE mistake. :p

We will be seeing Max on June 2nd so I will tell him for you!

Thank you, dcfromva and mousetrom. The ala carte menu will suit us perfectly. Have you seen the way a teenage girl eats (or doesn't) in the morning?!.....

The birthday party thing was fun but you are right it is only Mickey and Minnie (and Pat E. Cake) and Mickey and Minnie do not come around to the tables, like a character meal. It is fun though, for both kids and adults alike.

I highly recommend Ariel's grotto (formerly Avalon Cove) in DCA. Depending on the age of your kids there are kid's meals for 6.99 I think and adult meals run about 12.99 not including beverage. The kid's meals come in a cute little sand bunket with the ketchup in the sand shovel. I think it is very reasonable considering the wonderful character interaction.

Last September Minnie (dressed in blue and white seaside garb) literally spent the entire lunch with my daughter. She took my daughter to a table of their own and was feeding her. I love Minnie. Also Ariel sits center court she normally greets you in the lobby she is sitting on top of a rock (which rolls) and her "fin" is draped over it. Also you see goofy, pluto and chip and dale. They give you sand themed instruments and turn up the music and then in a sort of conga line dance in and out of the restaurant. I cannot recommend this place any more highly.

Hope this helps.

also forgot to add, my daughter and I are going to the
Practically Perfect Tea at Paradise Pier Hotel. It is 20.00 for adults and 12.20 for kids. May be fun to have high tea with your daughter's and Mary Poppins. My daughter went to the
Mad Hatter's Tea Party at the GF this January and had a blast.

I am not sure if this is currently being offered I am waiting for a call back from reservationist at (714) 781-DINE.

Unless it has recently been changed, this is no longer available.

Thanks for the information. I thought they had brought it back.

I recommend the Birthday Party at the Plaza Inn - when we were there - there were people of all ages in attendance. So definately not just for little kids, it is however just Mickey and Minnie - but unless I am wrong there is no where else at DL (meaning character dining) that you can get a pic with Mickey Mouse, and that being the case this is the only place where can get Mickey and Minnie in the same photo together!!!
