Hi Everyone,

I need some advice...

About 6 weeks ago, I rented some DVC points from a member. She made the reservation for me, and said everything was set. All I had to do was wait for the confirmation, and then send her the 50% deposit.

The problem is, I haven't heard from her since. I still have not received the confirmation. I have e-mailed her several times to check on the status. She will not return my e-mails. I don't even know if my reservation exists!

I need to know soon. Our trip is in May, and I already have my flight for my whole family.

I have not sent her any money yet, so nothing has changed hands.

Does anyone have any advice?

I would find someplace to stay quick!!

If she never got back to you and no money has been exchanged, then I doubt you have a ressie. Don't know if I would send someone money that cant return an email for 6 weeks.

Consider yourself lucky and find somewhere to stay for May.
 
I'm so sorry about what's happening.....

The member should have received the confirmation & then immediately forwarded it on to you....

I'm guessing, by the lack of communication, she probably decided not to rent the points.....You may want to make other lodging arrangements... :sad2:
 
Email is not always reliable, so it could be an email problem. If you have another way to contact her, you may want to give it a try. Otherwise write it off and look for someone else to rent from.

As a side bit of advice, never rent from someone where email is your only contact. Once you agree to rent, get a phone number and a postal mail address in addition to email.
 

Oh, wow, I feel your pain! Can you check for their posts to see if they have been posting lately? Maybe something happened. Have you tried the Private Messages on this Board? If their regular e mail is down, maybe they will see that.
 
Contact another member who wants to rent points, and rent from them. I would guess that the first renter decided not to rent the points, or rented them to someone else. It was extremely rude not to send you an email. Generally, you should have gotten a confirming email within a couple days.
 
Call the person if you can. do you have the reservation number and the like, if so, you may be able to call DVC directly to see if you do indeed have a reservation.
