Any advice on "other" car rental companies?

So far the prices I've been qouted by Fox, Eagle, Ace and L&M have been far lower than the major companies even with discount codes. Does anyone have any experience with these rental agencies?

We are looking to cut back on our expenses by trying to locate better fares with air and car rental. Long lines, etc. arent a problem - I'm worried about quality, etc. The car will spend 4 days parked at the cruise terminal, but I will need it in good enough shape to get there and back.

We had a good experience with L&M once. I had booked with a great coupon code with Dollar and got a great rate. When we got in to MCO the line for Dollar was wicked long (like it was looking like a good 45 min. wait) and L&M didn't have a line and was advertising that they had cars...so I bit and went over and asked if they'd match the great rate I had - they did and even beat it by a bit! The car wasn't spectacular, but all we're really after is a "set of wheels" for the week that will get us around and has a/c...which sounds like what you're looking for too. If I remember correctly we got a Daewoo Lanos that seemed just about ready to head off to auction, but it served us well for the week and was reliable (which is more than I can say for our last rental which was with Budget!)

Thanks for the opinion. Our last Budget rental was not too hot either. A chevy impala that looked like it was on it's last legs.

I think that for the price difference I will give them a try unless a better deal pops up.
