Does any one have any advice for a crusin mom-to-be, like things to do or not to do?

I will be 13 weeks when aboard the Magic. I plan on getting back massages and snorkel at St. Thomas and St. Maarten.

Never been pregnant, but here are a few things you might enjoy:

At the adult pool there is an area of about 3 feet all around that the water laps up into. I've always enjoyed just sitting in this area (especially when the ship is moving) and letting the water just lap up at me.

When we were at serenity bay on our 2001 cruise they had girls from the spa walking around selling foot massages right on the beach. I didn't do one as I had the foot and ankle message earlier in the week. A woman next to us did and said it was heavenly to just sit in her beach chair and be pampered.

Go to Palo and have a wonderful dinner for two with your DH and celebrate the coming event. Don't know how many opportunties you'll have for things like this right after the baby comes.

Congratulations and enjoy your cruise!

Be cafeful about getting massages while pregnant, especially a foot massage. I heard that massaging the wrong spot can put a woman into labor. Consult your doctor about this first though :)

My wife was in her first tri when we sailed the Big Red Boat (the old disney cruise days), she kept a box of ritz crackers next to the bed to battle nausea, also you may want to invest in a pair of sea bands since you will not be able to take any sea sick meds( i believe)

I will keep all those thoughts in mind. I go back to the Dr. on the 1st of May, I will ask about what kind of massages I can get.

I do have a pair of those sea bands and I swear by them. I used to couldn't read in a car and now with those on I can. :D

I can't wait to just sit in the Quiet Cove Pool letting the water go over me and enjoying a virgin pina colda! :smooth:

we'll be anxious to hear what you did on your cruise as my daughter will be just as far along on our cruise, any advise you can give her when you get back will be very much appreciated. have a wonderful time, we just got medical form to fill our that dcl sent to travel agent, have a safe trip.and a magical time!!!!!!!!!!

I was 17 weeks when we traveled on our last cruise....I had a great time....I did not get a massage on that trip....they do not
have the pregnancy tables but I think they stack up towels or
something....being my 3rd pregnancy I already had quite a belly so did no want to lie on it....at 13 weeks you should not have
a problem...I was able to take Dramamine...I only took it once
the entire trip so I did not feel guilty...The one thing I did really
well was EAT!!!!....They have great chocolate smoothies!!!!I walked all over ST M and St T without any problems....And if you
do not have any other kids go enjoy Serenity Bay on CC...listen
very closely to noise....there will be none....it will be one of the
last times you get to enjoy it!!!!Have a great time!!!

I love the point about listening and not hearing any noise! Now that my youngest is 13 I am REALLY looking forward to heading for Serenity Bay while mine enjoy the teen activities and hearing this SILENCE once again! :jester:

Also let the person who is doing your massage know that you are expecting. They will make sure to use "safe" oils then. Enjoy yourself, b/c your next cruise will be totally different with a young one!:D

Congratulations. We are expecting our 2nd in July. We have a daughter 4. I am trying to talk my hubby into the 7 night Eastern in November. Anyways, RE: the massage, The place on the foot that stimulates the cervix is the back side of the ankle where the achilles tendon runs. I know this because I just got a pedicure yesterday and the girl doing it let me know. Also you probably know this but DO NOT USE THE WHIRLPOOLS/JACUZZI if your body temp gets too hot it is not good for the baby. Lets see what else...Hopefully you have a room with a verandah for fresh air, if you don't this would be a good excuse to upgrade. Also if you have never been on a Disney Cruise room service is included so take advantage whenever you are hungry or if you think you might be getting hungry. And of course drink plenty of water. Have a great cruise.

I was thinking about getting a pedicure before we leave, now I am not so sure.

Yes, I been on the DCL before this will be my 5th one but 1st being pregnant.

We don't have any other kids so I will have take everyones advice and go to Serenity Bay and listen to the quite waves and relax.:o

We do have a room with a verandah and I plan on using it a lot. I just love looking out at the ocean. :smooth:

I hope I will be able to enjoy the food. Right now I can barely eat with out getting nauseous.

Definately get the pedicure. Just let them know that you are pregnant and skip the back of the ankle massage. If you are really uncomfortable hit the hubby up for a nice toenail painting. If you are flying make sure to bring crackers and gingerale on the plane and know where the "sick bag" is. Hopefully you won't have to use it. Have a great trip!!!

we are in Tampa, FL so it will take us roughly 3 1/2 hours to get there.

My mom and I have decided to get a pedicure, I still owe her a pedicure for her birthday.

4 weeks from today and we will be heading to Port! :)
