Any advantage to "package" vs. buying tickets?

The price seems pretty close between room only and buying Passport Plus Passes vs. The Resort Magic Package. The RM includes pins and lanyards. Buying passes independantly includes a free breakfast in the park(not the character one) The package is less than $100 more....Is it worth it? Everything else seems the same to me. Am I missing something? Does the Passport Plus Pass include early entry, of if we are onsite, is that included anyway?

Unlike WDW packages, I really believe that DL packages are worth their value. I've used several DL packages, both on and off site, and it always seems like we come out slightly ahead. Not huge amounts, but a little. And discounts are harder to come by at DL.

The other thing I like about the packages is the included items are useful, like the breakfast. You can also upgrade to a character breakfast for a little more (it cost us $11 more per person to upgrade, and it included gratuity too).

I'm not sure if DL has reinstated early entry. I was there in Oct. 2001 (at GC, great hotel!), and there was no EE at that time. Our package also came with ESPN game cards, which was a fun way to spend some time. We also had a free fast pass to be used on any ride we wanted.

When are you going? And do you have a Disney Club Card? DC saved me about $100, and because I went in the fall, I used one of the fall packages which got me an extra night free at GC, plus an extra day on the hopper pass free.

I also have used the packages many times and really like it. I like getting my package and having everything taken care of. If it is less money plus the breakfast and the pin, I say that is a great deal. There was no early entry last month and doubt there will be any time soon. We can only hope because I miss it.

The other thing to keep in mind is packages include taxes and fees, which can really add up. DLR hotels have resort fees, and they are included in the packages.
