Hi everyone :wave2: , had a quick question.

As part of my Easter trade into Saratoga Springs I am able to use Member Services for dining reservations. I plan on using the dining plan again, so I was wondering if there is any difference between booking dining reservations through DVC member services vs. the 407-WDW-Dine?

Thanks

Toll-free number. That's about it.

Until about 6 months ago, DVC CMs used to book the dining reservations themselves. Now punching the buttons on the DVC line simply forwards the call to the WDW-DINE call center. No advantages in securing reservations whatsoever.

There is actually a disadvantage to using MS if you want to book hard to get locations, as the WDW Dining number is open earler and closes later than the Member Services phone line.

However, if you need to talk to a MS CM for something else, and also have ADRs to make, they will do them for you. At least, when I called to add DME to my upcoming reservation they also made all my ADRs while I had them on the line!:thumbsup2

Better read up on DDP 2008 -- it's undergone major changes. The biggest change is that the gratuity is no longer included in the price you pay for DDP -- it's now your cost to pay. Also, no more appetizer with the TS meal, so they've taken a big chunk of the value out of the plan. Those two items together are probably $15 per day, per adult. To compensate, the price went down $1.00 for both adults and kids.

Depending on your family composition and dining habits, you may still find DDP advantageous, but it's nowhere near the value it used to be.
