Any advantage to buying park tickets in advance?

Hi
Just booked 1st week Jan at all star movies.
Lucked out no rooms avail.
I didn’t buy tickets yet because my plans are not SOLID.

I was going to buy tix from undercover tourist with the genie.

1. is there any reason to add this on soon?
Since I can’t book fastpass?

2. Can I book dining in a park without ticket attached to reservation?

3. is dining Ressie still 60 day out?
4. Any advantage to buying ticket package through Disney?

Packages are fully refundable up until a certain amount of time before.

Reason to buy earlier than later is 1) they might raise the ticket prices and 2) to get park reservations. Otherwise, no reason to add until you are sure.

Dining reservations is 60 days out.

Ok this is what I needed to know.
I was worried about refund on tickets.
And I forgot about park reservations lol

I just jumped on the room because of availability..
I can cancel till 4 days before.
Is this similar for packages?

Tickets don't refund, they can just be modified to different dates and you pay the price difference if the new dates are more expensive. Packages are refundable but they switch to nonrefundable, I think 30 days in advance.

If you know for certain that you will be going, but the dates are fuzzy, one idea would be to buy tickets now from a legit discounter and link them to your MDE. Then you can get some park reservations.

Also, remember that you can reserve your room in smaller chunks of days in several reservations. Then once you are firm on the dates, they can merge the reservations you keep into one. I did this for our upcoming trip. I'd heard of problems where people had trouble modifying their reservation is it was sold out for some of their days. They were made to cancel and rebook and even what they'd just cancelled wasn't available.

Getting a park reservation would be the main reason currently. Wait too long and you might not get into the more popular parks without hopping.

Not that there is anything wrong with 3rd party...
But I will only buy from Disney from now on.
Disney was so great to us.. we had an illness come on when we were traveling to the park..
About a day out I called to see what my options were... they were so awesome and refunded my first day of resort back to my CC. The CM went over and beyond for us...
She moved our first res. To the end. I know I would have not gotten this kind of customer service from a 3rd party.
I buy giftcards from Sam's and the discount is about the same as if I had went somewhere else.

Same here!! COVID cancelled our plans and we live 3,000 miles away we are golden oldies not likely to make the trip again and they refunded our tickets! CM MAGIC!
