I was just wondering how unsual it is for adults w/o children along to get the characters to sign autograph books? I am a scrapbooker and I am considering having some cardstock in a small album for autographs when Dh and I go for our anniversary.

Our trips are just DH and me, and I collect autographs. In fact, I was as silly as a little kid (or even sillier) when I got Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable's autographs back in May.

Ok now I feel so much better for wanting to get them :dance3:

If you want to make the experience better, don't just hand the character your book (or cardstock) and thank them and leave. I always try to start a conversation. Just think of the character's background and say something appropriate. The face characters may actually start a conversation.

That shouldn't be too hard for me. I have been a Disney fanatic since I was a small child. Have read anything I can get my hands on about the Man behind the mouse and everything else too. :rotfl:

We are leaving tonight, and since its my best friends 30th birthday, we definitely want lots of pictures, and got an autograph book too!

you're never too old to be a kid at disney! :wizard:

DW and I have no kids and are in our 30's. We take pictures with and get autographs from the characters all the time. I'm entitled to just as much fun as a kid...right?? :rotfl:

my gf & I are in our early 20's and we feel embarassed sometimes, but hey once you get over the jitters and dont worry about what other people think, things are okay. We figure hey we want to have fun too :)

why should the kids be the only ones to have fun? they get all the special treatment anyway :)

I'll agree and say go for it....I do it all the time....also If a character doesnt have a line and just standing there I always run up and give them a hug  , no photo or signature needed...its hot in those suites and they feel better knowing people want to see them...

When my DF & I go for our WDW Wedding, we're taking a photo mat with us for cahracters to sign. It will match the one we're using for our guest book!

Last time I went, I tried to collect as many pictures and signatures as I could. The pictures were for me and the signatures were for a birthday gift for my nephew. Alot of the characters wished him a Happy Birthday and added his name to it too. This was a big hit with him, as he wondered how all of the characters knew it was his birthday, when he was not there to tell them himself!

Last Fall when we went I had the characters sign post cards to send home. (a tip I learned here) I sent them to friends kids, my parents etc. It was alot of fun. This year I am expecting and I plan to bring a photo mat and have the characters sign to put around a photo of the castle to hang in the babys room.

I'm going with just hubby for the first time in 18 years. I won't be getting any autographs... the kids already have them 20 times over... but there's no reason why you can't. After all, while at Disney, we're all kids at heart!

Oh gosh! That is an awesome, awesome idea!!!!!!! Hmmm, now I will have to get autographs!!!! How cool, now I'm so excited to see the characters and hand over the pen!

We are taking our first adult only trip in Sept - and if I find Capt Jack anywhere for autographs believe me I am so there pirate: :rotfl:

When we were in WDW 2 years ago, we stood in line for pictures. We were the only two adults most times but who cares. we didn't get autographs but it was still fun.

I don't do the autograph thing, but I ALWAY get my picture with any character I see, especially Donald Duck and i'm 44 years old!! People who look at my pictures seem to think i'm stalking him..lol...But it's your vacation, if getting autographs or pictures make you happy, then do it!!

maux :donald:

Its good to see that other adults love to take pictures with the characters & get autographs. I really want to do this at WDW, and I think I will! :p

Last May when we went (just DH & me) we didn't think of getting autographs at first, but then dh saw Mary Poppins & Alice in Wonderland and that started his autograph quest! We didn't have a book or anything, so he got as many as he could to sign his hat.

We did the same thing - start a conversation with the characters - they were wonderful and since we were celebrating our anniversary - they were happy to oblige with an autograph and have their picture taken with us.

When we go next year - we'll be ready by taking a bunch of Sharpie pens with us!

Funny thing though - when we saw Alladdin & Jasmine at Epcot - the entire line was filled with adults! Gosh but Alladdin was sooooo cute! :goodvibes

I say go for the autographs!
