Any adults done a Disney Cruise (no kids)

Our first DCL cruise was without kids. But we were sailing with my BIL and SIL and their two kids!! We had a blast and we are going again at the end of this year with them, but now we will have a 3 year old.....CAN'T WAIT!! :goodvibes

Husband and I went with our kids on a Disney cruise back in 1999. We had a great time. Last May, my husband and I decided to do the Disney Mediterranean cruise for our 30th anniversary and had a blast! I had chatted with several people here on the DIS, so our dinner table was made up of 2 other couples who were having their anniversary also, and a mother and daughter (who had just graduated law school). Everyone did their excursions during the day and then we all sat down to dinner and talked about what we did that day. Our group was fantastic! Then we would all go to one of the clubs at night and dance or watch the show.

You can do as much/little "Disney" as you want. It is very adult friendly and never felt like we were "missing" something because we didn't have kids (but did make me long a little for when our boys were younger and went with us!)

We liked it so much....we are going on the Disney Western Transatlantic cruise this upcoming Sept. Disney is just a class act when it comes to entertainment!pixiedust:

Is there any other way to do a cruise? LOL. DH and I celebrated our 25th on the Magic and it was...magical!

My 12 year old GS sitting right here playing video games on my 360 live was asked which was the better cruise for him, Disney Wonder, Magic or the Freedom. He said the Freedom by far. He has cruised all three ships plus the Carnival Sensation. A total of 7 cruises since 2008. Three DCL cruises, 2 RCI and 2 CCL.

???? :confused3

Isn't this a thread about adults without kids, not which cruiseline is preferred by tweens? I know that what interests my kids is often different than what interests me. I could care less about xbox 360, but the kids seem to enjoy it.

We liked our Carnival cruise enough that I spoke to my TA a short time ago and had her cancel our RCCL Freedom cruise for this summer. We are looking into the dates/times/prices for a Carnival cruise. Probably on the same ship we just sailed on. Mind you it is one of Carnivals oldest ships. But the itineraries are a bit different than what we were expecting on the Freedom and we are exploring what other places/options on the ships available to us before we go.

We seem to enjoy cruising with/without the Kids. Looking forward to our (someday) mom and dad only cruise on DCL.

Going back and reading the original OP question, you have an excellent point!

Carnival is a great cruise. To me they have the best food. I have been on the Fascination, Sensation, older ships and the Glory. Met some people today, 4 older adults, 40-50, off the Carnival Dream and they said it was a great cruise. Excellent steaks, great shows and just a fun time. They did not see any drunks, bad kids or heavy partying on their cruise. Be aware Carnival is different on tips. You have to pay them up front as soon as you board the ship. I think it is $12.00 a day now. They charge your account.

They said they wouldn't even consider the DCL's for their cruising vacations. They took their grand kids one time and enjoyed it, but would not do it without the grand kids. To many other adult activities on the other cruise lines.

Well, for us, Carnival is a good cruise but the food in the main dining hall was not to our liking. Still think our best cruise by ourselves is yet to come and that will be with DCL.

Just got off a Carnival cruise. For the tips, your comments are not my experience.

As for drunks. Saw a few on our Carnival cruise. One we just passed by. The other got a bit more personal. I believe it was a little bit of a misunderstanding between the two of us, but still!

Hi there,

Whilst I love my daughter very much we did the transatlantic last Sep without our daughter and we loved it, infact we are doing this again in Sep also. With the Transatlantic it's a different type of cruise, lots of adults not many kids in fact the family was quiet pool for the 2 weeks. Just in case you start feeling bad for our daughter we took her on the Dover-Barcelona earlier that summer.

We are doing 2 cruises, the med 10 day in Jun and the 5 day Dream in Aug and then a couples only Transatlantic in Sep.

My brother and I are not "kids' anymore (until we get to Disney, watch Disney movies, etc). But my parents still cruise without us. While I am jealous, it's nice for them to be able to get away from everything! :goodvibes
