Any $10 drive out of Florida deals now for end of July/begin of Aug?

Just found out that we will be having to make an unexpected trip to Florida probably in the next few days, but almost definitely in the next two weeks. My mom is very near death, and we would like to drive down with DD, and drive back on our own. She will have to get back asap after funeral due to work. We would like to stay a couple of extra days before heading home. But a one-way rental is almost $400.

Anyone know if there are any current drive out of Florida for $10/day deals going on right now that would be valid for sometime during the next couple of weeks?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't expect any good one way out of Florida deals until September or late August at the absolute earliest.

It sounds like it would be cheaper to do a round trip rental and take two cars. r investigate alternative modes of transportation for the return trip - bus, plane, train - for either her or you. But if nothing else works, come up with the $400 somehow and make the trip.

We definitely will make the trip, no matter what. I think we are going to just drive together and head back when she does. Mom passed away during the night last night, and we have been working on our plans for getting down there. With the funeral being Monday, DD is going to be there as long as we planned to. So it worked out in the end.
