Any 10-16-04 cruisers yet?

I was wondering what you guys knew about attractions around Port Canaveral?!?! Our flight to Oregon doesn't leave MCO until 10:00pm on the 23rd and I don't want to sit around the airport after disembarking..... I was thinking about renting a car from the port and returning it to MCO around 7 or 8. Does anyone who's done a cruise out of Port Canaveral know if there's anything to do there?

We went to the mall today to get party stuff and dresses for the cruise. Mekayla's set for the trip! Went to Home Depot for the paint chips to make the door sign!! Anyone know what the room keys look like? We bought cast lanyards on Ebay hoping that would be a good way to move around the ship hands free, but now I am wondering if the keys are credit cards like hotels, or if they're something else... anyone know? Also, thinking about Palo's, but I am single...should I bother with a "nice, formal" dinner even though I'll be alone? Whatcha' think? We're six months ayway guys!!!!! We're gettin' there!

You are more than welcome to eat with our group at Palo. The more the merrier!

Denise

WldWcnWmn ~ Have you thought about Kennedy Space Center? We were there a couple months ago with cub scouts. We only live two hours away.

The room keys or Key To The World cards are just like credit cards.

Denise, you're a Doll!! We'll have to arrange when you guys are thinking about Palos, I would love to have a night out (like a real adult) so, if you have a party of three or more, I'd love to join! I don't want to intrude on a couple's thing...and I got the A-O.K. from Mekayla! ;) I will check out the Space center, who knows, there maybe something going on there...Mekayla is a girl scout, maybe they have a cool patch or something for her uniform.... Hmmmm:smooth: I am sure we'll be pretty beached out by the time the cruise is over, buy maybe CoCo beach is an option, too. Do you guys think boredom is a consequence of a 7 day cruise?? looking at the "at sea" days, makes me wonder if there's enough to do on the ship?!?! Whatcha' think?

You wouldn't be intruding at all. And since Mekayla says it's okay...than it's okay! We'll figure it out when it gets closer to the cruise.

Talk to you later....Denise

WldWcnWmn ~ There's so much to do during "at sea" days. On our first Disney cruise we didn't have any "at sea" days and we never got to do all the stuff I wanted to do. Have you checked out the threads about this topic or looked at the
Navigators on Dave's site?

There's the spa, movies, sitting in the sun by the pool, the exercise room, sitting in a comfy chair on deck 4 reading a book, bingo, classes, internet cafe, coffee bar, and probably a lot more that I can't think of right now.

I just read where someone we cruised with 2 years ago is moving to south Florida. Her DH got a promotion and a transfer. I am sooo jealous.

Haven't really thought about the cruise lately. Too much on our minds.

Kids are back in school.....Thank Goodness! This spring break was the longest 2 weeks of my life. Look at all the hair I pulled out of my head (shows everyone her bald spot). Summer is 7 weeks away. I am gonna send those children somewhere!

Denise, how come you didn't invite me to Palo? HUH? How come you invite other people but I never get invited anywhere? HUH? I probably wouldn't go but I would like to be invited! I just like the thought of people actually wanting me.

There are a lot of on-board ship acitivites. I think there is wine tasting and food preparation....anything with liquor or food , I am there!

Have a great week!

Woo hoo! We may be building a new house and we should be in it by September! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Rose: Nice bald spot. It is quite becoming for a princess:

My goodness, Rose, have I not done enough for you? Did you forget about last Thanksgiving? Can you take that crown off your head once in a while and think of other people. Geez.

Congratulations, Denine, that is so exciting! I wish you luck.

:wave2: Hello to everyone

Denise

Hi! I am getting so excited about the cruise. There are 11 of us doing a family reunion cruise and only two have cruised before. Those two "cruised" when they were in the Navy, so they did not have the luxuries that it sounds like we will have on the cruise. Do you mind answering a few questions for me? How expensive are the souvenier mugs, and do you recommend us buying them? I am looking forward to seeing you all in your princess outfits, waving your princess wands. My DGD will be 3 1/2 at cruise time, so I may need to take her shopping for a princess outfit. It sounds like the staff will be treating us like real princesses! Then reality hits when we come home . . . :-(

I guess the first thing we do when we get home is book our next Disney cruise, right? :-)

Hi and welcome! My DGD will also be 3 1/2 when we cruise. That's a good age to be a princess. Actually any age is a good age if you're a princess!

Are you talking about the unlimited soda package? We purchased it last year and for us it was worth it as we drink alot of soda. (I do believe I am a coke addict....diet coke that is). It was $35.00 a person for the week. We didn't get the mug though. I didn't really want to lug it all over the ship. We had a sticker put on our KTTW card and we just had to show that when we were getting our drinks.

Have to go.....Survivor's coming on...once again welcome and looking forward to getting to know you before our trip!

Denise

Thanks for the info, Tevagirl. Iwill be buying soda stickers for my KTTW card also. I'm glad you mentioned the stickers ~ the mug thing wouldn't work out well for me. I can see it now ~ I'd want a soda and my mug would be back in the stateroom. I'd ask my DH to go get me the mug and he would probably tell me that I should have bought the sticker instead of the mug. :-(

I'm looking forward to meeting you on the cruise. Probably your DGD and my DGD will meet in the Oceaneers club. I've heard people say that the kids are upset when you go to pick them up because they are having a great time there. I sure hope so!

Gotta go get ready for work. Gotta earn some money so I can buy Disney Dollars and support "the mouse".

Gloria

Welcome to the DIS Boards tiggerfantoo! :wave2:

We're doing a family reunion cruise also (12 people). Are there any other kids going with you, besides your DGD? I have an 8 year old DS and a 20 month old DN going with us.

Denine ~ Congrats on the new house! We built our new house 2 years ago. It's very exciting and a little stressful.

Hi, Zandy595! My DGD has a half-sister who will be 19 months old when we cruise. She will be too young for the Oceaneers club so she will probably spend alot of time poolside :-)

It sounds like there will be alot of family reunions on this cruise. It sounds like a really nice place for family reunions with something for everyone.

Tevagirl, I am also a diet Coke addict. I also have a fondness for chocolate ~ I've heard the desserts on cruises are unbelievable! Guess I'll need to go check out the gym as soon as I board.

I am so glad I found this link. It will be nice to meet people on the cruise after meeting them on this message board.

Gloria

Did you all see that DCL will probably announce west coast cruises next week? They will be starting in May 2005. I HAVE to be on the transitional cruise to Califronia through the Panama Canal. :hyper:

Gloria: Welcome Aboard!

We signed the papers on Saturday to build the new home. We are really excited!

Being in the Pacific NorthWest, it will be a grand day indeed, when Mickey's Boat(s) come to California!!! I HATE the cross-country flight, but am willing to do it!!! I'll be so happy (and so poor) when they go west!!! Yeah, more cruises for us in the future!!!::yes::

We will be joing you for the October 16, 2004 cruise too!!
These boards are soooooooo helpfull, too bad I took it upon myself to book it all myself with the help of the internet...
I am finding out so much more here and its so nice to have specific questions answered quickly!!! This will be our first (and prolly last) BIG adventure since my DD19 is in college...better late than never I say! We are counting the days as of now but hopefully we'll be counting hours soon !!! We look forward to meeting all of you soon!! (only 5 more months...ugh!)

:bounce: Brian  Lisa :earsgirl: Emily :earseek: Lydia

Talk to ya soon! Lisa:crazy:
