Any 10-16-04 cruisers yet?

Well, Patty.... Happy Birthday to hubby and you. :bday: :cake: Let's hope this vacation is better than the one in 2000. It sounds like you deserve it. And if this is your first post on this board...welcome! If not...forgive me...I forget alot of things. ( it's an age thing :( )

I am looking forward to this cruise. My oldest son is getting married next year so I'm thinking I might have to cut back on my trips. ( oh my....that's an awful thought!)

Lisa....is Brian doing all the remodeling work? Is he ranting and raving? Cursing? Is the dog under the bed? NO? What? You mean that's not normal behavior!? I knew he was lying to me!

Hi All,
Just checking in, wishing we were leaving tomorrow instead of 7 weeks from tomorrow !!! Am irritated at most of my families (work related), and many of my coworkers...and it is the 9th day of school ! I'll be happy when someone on this thread gets their docs...I'm thinking about a month ? I've also been eating like a pig for the past week...that has to stop or my dress for formal night won't fit. I was 2 pounds above my good weight, now I'm more like 5...Ick !! I've been reassuring my mother that her clothes are great, she'll be perfectly dressed...then I said I intended on wearing a bathing suit, cover-up, and flip-flops the first day...I sensed she thought that was weird. Any thoughts ?

On a more somber note...I'm worried about Sophia...I keep thinking they'd have posted good news...not that the family doesn't have more important things to do, but since they posted about the fire right away...

There was a post just put on the cruise boards regarding Sophie and it's not looking good. Abnormal EEG and she's still on a ventilator. They are praying for a miracle. I hope they get one.

Hello Everybody:

I've been too busy to think about the cruise also, but I cant get it off of my mind. I havent posted for awhile but I hope you guys didnt forget me.........Since I've been back to work, I have NO time at all. I leave one job..........and walk right into another, but it's OK.........He's sooooo cute..lol......(lucky for him).......Anyway, cant wait but am a little apprehensive about the plane ride with the little one. He doesnt like to be told what to do. My father already said (like 100 times) we are not dining with them, that they switched there times to the late dinner. I dont get it?? Is it because I have dinner over there 4 times a week and Andrew yells the whole time? He's only expressing himself! I hope there isnt any rules about "bad babies" because if there is, I'll be in big trouble!! See you all soon ::yes:: ..........Jill

Jill: You know, Andrew probably just takes after his grandparents. Sometimes the children or grandchildren that irritate you the most are the ones that are similiar to your own personality. (thinks to herself, DR Phil has nothing on me.)

I wouldn't worry about Andrew screaming at dinner. The dining rooms are usually so loud with screaming children and husbands that no one really pays attention.

Wideawake: Pools are empty the first day of the cruise. I do not think wearing your bathing suit is weird at all. No bathing suit would cause quite a commotion though!

Sounds like everyone is in need of a vacation. We got our excursion plans in the mail but no docs yet. My optimistic DH is hoping for an upgrade. He thinks he is gonna go from a category 6 to the Walt Disney Suite:rolleyes: . Poor man is soooo delusional. Perhaps that's why he married me...I didn't really ask.

Rose

I, too, am anxiously running to the mailbox everyday to see if my docs have arrived. Sorry to say, nothing yet!

Tevagirl.....Thanks for the welcome and the nice bday wishes.

I think I can, I think I can, docs in the mail, docs in the mail.....

Patty

Rose ~ Maybe something went over my head  (nothing new there) but, I know the pools are open from the moment you step on the ship. DS is planning on getting in the Mickey pool right after lunch. The only one that might not be open is the Goofy pool since they cover it for the Sail Away party.

I think a lot of people wear there bathing suits under a nice pair of shorts and a top since they take a family picture when you board.

My TA said we shouldn't expect our docs until 2 or 3 weeks before the cruise. I think if you book through DCL you might see them sooner though.

Patty ~ Glad you made it over here to meet the rest of the group. Some of them are a little crazy.

Sandy, if you read my post again, it says there is nothing weird about wearing a bathing suit the first day of the cruise. The pools are very empty. All the pools are open. We went last year.

I did say that no bathing suit would cause a commotion implying that being naked would be rather different.

Your TA is right, docs don't usually come until 2-3 weeks before the cruise. The tradition is the last person to receive their documents has to buy everyone else a round of drinks. Okay, okay, so I made that tradition up!

;)

Rose

Rose ~ Duh, I feel stupid now. When you said the pools were empty, I thought you meant there was no water in them. Wasn't thinking that you meant there were no people in them. I did get the naked joke though. :teeth:

What happens if you're the last one to get your docs? ;)

Sandy, if I was the last person to get my docs, I would LIE and say they came 6 weeks ago!

:p

Rose

Oh, in that case...

Hey everyone, guess what?! The mailman just dropped off my cruise documents. Woo hoo! :teeth:

Sandy, did you really get your docs already? I want ours!!!!!!!!!!!! I like the idea of whoever gets their docs last, buys everyone a drink!!!! I'm in for this!!!! Anyone else!!

Well, gonna go. I'llcheck back later!

Uh, yeah sure... ;) ;)

No, just kidding. Didn't want to be the last one and have to buy drinks for everyone. :p

Sandy:

Thanks for the magnet signs, they turned out great! Can't wait to see them on the stateroom door!!

Just checking in. I will be AWOL for a few days delaing with this pesky packing.

Welcome Katie! And Happy birthday wishes.

You see...this is exactly how rumors start:

The Doc's are in the mail.....

Due to a water shortage the pools will be closed until further notice.

Rose is a perfectly normal human being.....

Doug ~ You're welcome. :D

Tracey ~ I mailed your sign and Mickey magnet today. ::MickeyMo

Thea ~ I'm working on your signs and will mail them next week. I'm going to PM you with the designs, for your approval, since you asked for different wording. princess:

To everyone who ordered the DISboard Mickey magnets ~ Feel free to cut them out, if you want. I just didn't have time to cut them all out.

Do the docs usually come by mail or Fed Ex? The DCL employee I spoke to said they come by Fed Ex (UPS, etc) but not by mail. I gave her my street address, not my post office box number.

So . . . . if they send them via the post office, I won't get them. That means someone at the post office might be on the cruise impersonating me. . . :-(

Seriously, though, I can hardly believe that the cruise is right around the corner. I want to dig my suitcases out and start packing right now.

Someone on another thread said room service will deliver to the laundry rooms. That almost feels sneaky, like when I used to hide the kind of candy bars that I like in Tupperware containers marked "cotton balls" in the bathroom. It was the only way I could be sure that the kids wouldn't find my secret supply of Snickers and eat them all. It's amazing how sneaky we can get when we have children.

Gloria

Sandy...I sent you a PM.

Gloria...it's amazing some of the things we have to do just because we gave birth!

Hi All,
Need the cruise more today than yesterday...after 5 tearful, hysterical phone calls finally got transportation for DS for his new school on Monday. Mind you this was promised in May...I really, really, hate the whole special ed process...turns a normal dignified human being into a basket case...the only reason my child gets what he needs is that the district knows I'll fight. It is so hard being on two sides...yesterday I sat in on two IEPs...made certain my students got what they needed, but also made certain my director of special ed was happy...not an easy tightrope to walk.

The news about Sophie is horrible...I was afraid of something like that.

We reserved two scuba excursions for DH...the faxed form from DCL came back with GTY room assignment...we've had our rooms for months and don't think we're getting an upgrade...we have connecting rooms. Did everyone end up with GTY on the excursion form ?

Zandy...I think you wanted excursion info...as stated above DH is doing the scuba in St. Martin and St. Thomas...other than that I think DS, me, and my mom will be doing the beaches and trams on our own, and at CC I want to do the banana boat ride...maybe the kayak too...
