Anxiety medicine

I started a new medicine (Lexapro) for anxiety/depression last Saturday and have the side effect of ringing in my ear. It is driving me up a wall!!!

Has anyone else dealt with this? Does it go away???

My dr. said to try for a few more days but it sure makes getting to sleep extremely difficult. I have to admit, it has only been 1 week - but it is annoying!!!
Does it ever go away? I am ok when I have background noise, but when it is quiet - like at bedtime it is really distracting.

I am somewhat limited in what medicine I can take because I still nurse my daughter.

My husband started lexapro a few weeks ago but has not experienced ringing in the ears. Good luck though in getting it figured out

I've had tinnitus in my left ear since the mid 60s (constant ringing). I've gotten used to it and don't notice it unless I think about it, like right now!

You'll eventually get used to it. Mine is nerve damage caused by artillery and small arms fire - also not good for your health.

I go in tomorrow for an appointment and will check w/ the dr.
I hope it goes away!

I'm afraid I was on Wellbutrin for a year (it also has that side effect) and the ringing didn't stop until I'd been off it for about a year and a half.
