Anxiety about first trip back?

I can't say that I'm happy to see people who have similar anxious thoughts like me, but I am glad to not be alone. As our trip gets closer, two days away eeek! I am even a little more nervous just in general about traveling. It's been a while. I think if we get overwhelmed at any point we'll just seek out a snack and have a seat on a curb and as a friend on this board noted to me, we can watch for all the DL critters. I hope you all have successful trips!
Good luck and have a wonderful time! Another place that might be good for you if you start getting overwhelmed is the theatre on Main St. It normally has rocking ac and has silent cartoons around all the walls. I’ve seen people in there taking naps before. :)

We just booked our first trip since the pandemic started (yay!), to Disneyland. This is definitely a trip we are taking with more caution and concern in the back of our mind then ever before.

We’re excited and planning like we generally would, but at the same time we are having conversations around things like mask usage, hand sanitizer/wipes to bring and other health and safety related things.

I consider us good planners, and generally have more then we need, I think really the one variable we can’t plan for while makes me the most nervous is the other people/crowds/lines situations that may pop up. For example, I like my bubble.

We were just there from 7/7 and got home late last night... while there is still hand sanitizer and mobile ordering there is no social distancing and very few guests wore their masks; many CMs did but a good quarter of them also did not. Often the hand sanitizers are empty but the next one would still have some, I think they just can't keep up with the volume. I had people bumping into me in line like the old days and they are filling all of the ride vehicles to the brim. I'm not saying any of this to alarm you, but I thought I was ready for it and it still surprised me once I was in it. That said I've never seen as few sniffles and coughers around (until we got to the airport on our way home) and I took a home test earlier this morning that came up negative after 5 days in the parks. I was consistent about wearing my mask in line, whenever I felt I was too close to too many others, and inside as well as being vaccinated. I'll take another test in a few days in case I caught it later on in my trip, but so far so good!

Thank you for sharing your experience. Knowing what to expect ahead of time certainly helps. I don’t know if anything can truly prepare us for the feeling that will come with being there for the first time after all that has happened this past year. But we will do the same things. Wear our mask when inside and around major crowds, we will carry our own hand sanitizer too as well as bring our own wipes. Seeing the uptick in cases again in the Los Angeles area doesn’t help, but we will make the best of an uncomfortable situation.
