Ants...Help!

For the past seven days we have had a constant ant infestation. It's been pouring rain like mad around here, and a number of people have told me this happens around here often when it rains so much. However, this has never happened to me!!!

Every time I think I've got any openings taped up, and every bit of food in a baggie or in the fridge, they suddenly appear somewhere else. I can't even tell what they're eating half the time.

So far I go after them and their trails with 409 and a sticky lint brush. We also have a few of the bait traps. My tiny kitchen is unuseable (all the cupboards have been emptied, I have nowhere to put dishes, pans etc) Everytime I clean one area, another area gets more piled up with stuff. Is there any way to make this more manageable, or do I just need to wait them out? I'm really nervous they'll never go away.

As an aside, I live on the 3rd floor of an apartment complex. Why can't they bug my neighbors?

Have you tried the product, TERRO? It works wonders! It comes in an orange and white box. You can get it at Lowe's and Home Depot (maybe even Wal-Mart).

We have had ants once or twice and this really does the trick.

Good Luck!

<font face="Comic Sans MS"><font color=#006400>Well... I was going to say find out where those ants are entering the building....

I used to caulk every hole I found them coming through (sometimes trapping those little bodies in the caulk... ugh :earseek: ) I now put dryer cling free sheets (like Bounce) over the holes & rub the areas around there, and they stay away.

I'll try the bounce and the terro. I really don't want to go to the store, but if I can't cook tonight, take out calls. I'll stop by home depot on the way there...

I have waged a war against ants here for the longest. I will finally get rid of them and then about two months later I will be right back where I started from!!!

Sometimes they are a-skeered of grasshoppers.

cayenne pepper flakes - they won't go near it. If you can find where they are coming in, sprinkle some at the opening.
