For anybody that has been to Antigua before, what are some enjoyable excursions to do on your own? I don't usually like to book through the cruise lines so I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for things to do on your own. We usually like to go to the beaches to swim and snorkel. Are there taxis at the dock like there are in St. Thomas?
When the ship docks in Antigua is it near the shopping area? Are we able to walk or do we need to take a taxi?

First, "bump" is just a way of moving the thread back up to the top of the list in hopes of more people seeing it again.

Secondly, we booked an eco tour through
www.adventureantigua.com
From what I got from the staff there, we will dock near your typically touristy shopping area, also near the "Jolly Roger Pirate Ship." Other than that, I don't know what beaches are around, etc, but I bet there is an Antigua tourist site that you could get some good info from!
