Antigravity Chair or Hammock?

I'm thinking about getting DH either an antigravity chair or a portable hammock for Father's Day but can't make up my mind. Anybody know of any great deals?

The anyigravity chair would be alot less work for him to enjoy. Big Lots usually has them for under $50 and often puts them on sale for in the neighborhood of $35. Of coarse, a true "lazy man" knows that a hammock is by far the best of any seating/sleeping apparatuses, but thats useless info unless someone sets it up for him while he's busy being lazy!!!;)

Uh-ohhhhhh...hooooooold up............this could change the world as we know it!!!!!

How about a BEER. Sorry, it's a Camping Board rule that beer has to be mentioned in all posts that discuss leisure....

The Hammock is nice but I would go with the chair. It's much easier to drink beer out of a chair. Although the hammock would give you much entertainment watching him try to get in and out of it after a few BEERS. I guess it's a win either way as long as there is BEER.

We have two of the chairs and I LOVE them. The are the best at relaxing with the adult beverage of your choice. DH has a little trouble staying reclined sometimes, but he can be a little klutzy. They were the best investment in chairs we have ever made. They always come to FW with us and I go out early in the morning with juice/coffee and enjoy the quiet (DH is enjoying his still asleep). Later in the evening they are great for relaxing and taking a nap.

As far as hammocks go..the BEST Ive ever had the pleasure of owning was THIS TYPE, unfortunately, they dont stand up to the elements for very long and if you leave it hanging in the back yard through the winter, the first time you get on it for spring, it will rip and you will hit the ground....but if youre energetic enough to BRING IT INSIDE for the rainy days, these are the absolute GREATEST hammocks ever made. I used to buy them from a guy I worked with...he would go to mexico and buy 100 of them for like $5each, and sell them in the states for $50...he made a killing on them...he always sold them to me for $30 and I was happy to pay it...he unfortunately died in a car accident and I havent had the heart to buy from anyone else.

Decisions, Decisions. I was leaning towards the hammock this morning but, as you all pointed out, its lack of the all-important beverage containment device (aka cupholder) makes it a deal breaker for me. The chair wins!

P.S. BDR, sounds like those hammocks were awesome - sorry about your friend though.

P.S.S. Don't throw away those old hammocks just yet. They could make a pretty good bear trap if baited just right - but that's a different thread entirely.

I prefer the anti-gravity chair myself. Can set it anywhere, not dependent of trees or other support. And there's nothing like coming back from a hard day of theme parking and sitting down with your throbbing feet and legs elevated.:thumbsup2

We bought one of those in Mexico several years ago, never used it. We sold it at a yard sale last spring. Saturday the lady who bought it knocked on our door wanting to know where she could buy another. It seems it was the best hammock she ever owned but she left it out all winter and first time she tried it out this spring she hit the ground.

I have an antigravity chair at the office for midday naps. Personally, though, I prefer to nap in a hammock, which I used to have stretched between two trees in the backyard. I realize this post is of little help in making this critical decision, I just wanted to share my personal experience.

WOW!!! Whoever invented that hammock has got to be a zillionaire!:cool1:
