A friend of mine is a gadget reporter for MSNBC and is at CES, and she just did a video about an iPad case I'm sure a LOT of you could really use...

Gadgetbox: Case keeps iPad safe (from reporters)

and look - it comes in DIS green! :)

Although I think I know some 4-year-olds who could probably throw better than her :)

Several years ago, my work was looking for vendors for new tablet PCs. One came in to do a demonstration. When someone asked how sturdy they were, the representative took a sample laptop, slid it down the conference room table, and onto the floor. I think I shrieked in horror, but it was okay. :lmao:

First case I buy for the troops iPod Touches is an Otterbox Defender and for iPhone's Zagg screen protectors.

Have a look at youtube to see the scary lengths folks go to test the sturdiness of the Otterbox cases ;)

Another vote for the Otterbox, it is amazing!

I have to say at 4 both DD and DS could throw better, they would have had it sailing down the walkway :)
Still a nifty case.

And I also have to vote for the Otterbox Defender - DH really put it to the test recently. He was running on the treadmill, listening to music on is iPhone, and it fell onto the belt....WHAM! Right into the wall it went. I was shocked it didn't end up imbedded in the wall it hit so hard. Phone is fine and case is still intact. :goodvibes

I agree, she really didn't put the case to much of a test. Throwing it on a carpeted floor. My house is tile.

While I understand the Otterbox is amazing for the iphone and ipod touch, I have seen less than favorable reviews for the ipad 2 version. I know, before I bought my autistic child an Ipad2, I read every review out there and watched lots of youtube videos of people throwing their ipads off of buildings, driving over them, shooting them with paint guns, etc.

After much research I settled on the Gumdrop Drop Series.

He hasn't dropped it off a roof, but it has survived a few trips from the couch to the floor.:thumbsup2
