OK - so I had DH place my new Mickey Pumpkin antenna topper on my car's antenna (on the top of the car). So - I've noticed a thumping noise - coming from the trunk (I thought). I took my car to the car dealership to figure out what the thumping was - it took them a while, but they discovered it was the antennna topper thumping on the top of the car!! It never occurred to me that it could be making the noise since I have had some sort of topper on that car for over a year - the pumpkin is a first!

sheesh! am I embarrassed!!

I've never noticed any noises coming from my antenna toppers, but I guess I'll know to think about that if I hear anything "odd".

LOL, I could see that happening to me! :teeth:

That didn't happen to us either. However someone liked my topper better than me and took it!

LOL! We had a bad antana topper experience too. We had the plastic flying tigger one. I guess he was about 3 inches long. DH went through a car wash and didn't take him off. (tough to get off) when he got done the car wash his antana was bent. It had cracked around the base! I guess the weight of tigger and the sponge things were too much! Talk about being upset, the truck was only a few months old . So several $100 later we only do the light weight ones and always take them off at car washes!

I've had a few taken, but never experienced any noises. My antenna is straight up and down. Do you have one of those bending over antennas like on my daughters car? She put a topper on her antenna and it almost leaned on the back door!

I have started placing my most favorite toppers on pens and pencils that I keep on my desk at school. That way I get to enjoy them everyday and I don't worry about them going missing in the Publix parking lot.

When we had toppers on our Dodge Neon (plain Mickey, Santa Mickey or Sorcerer Mickey) they always bent the antenna when we were driving at a good clip - like more than 35 mph. The antenna was at the front of the car so we could see this happening. Since we got the Grand Am, which has the antenna at the rear, I haven't bothered to put Sorcerer Mickey back in place. I'm afraid he'll bend this one too.

I use my antenna toppers on top of my power wheelchair's controller. Someone tried to steal it at Candlelight last year and only managed to break off one of Mickey's ears. Now I will take it with me when I have to park the chair.

this and other reasons are why my antenna toppers are on skewers in a vase on my desk at the office. No way am I letting my preciouses out on the open road! :rotfl:

This is a Honda Civic Hybrid - the antenna is on the top of the car. Sorcerer Mickey didn't "bump" on top of the car - but this pumpkin Mickey must be made of a different material. It actually sounded like a bouncy ball in my trunk. How could I have mistaken where the noise was coming from?!

This is why I had my DH create a small dashboard mount for them. I never have to worry about them falling off or getting stolen.

Hang them from the rear view mirror - safe and sound! :wizard:

I LOVE my Disney antenna toppers (and magnets, and keychains, and pins.......)! :earsboy:

I use to have a Ford Focus and the antenna was on the top, slanted toward the back. When I was on the highway, my Mickey topper would start bouncing and hit the top of my car. It did it in the car wash too. I had to finally take it off. I figured it would either drive me nuts making all that racket or I would have a huge dent on the top of my car.

My car is 10 years old and is making noises all over, so I doubt that I would notice!
Now for those 4 toppers that were stolen over the last 2 years, I hope it happens to them. :p
