I am an avid collector of Mickey Mouse Antenna Balls and have quite a few. It's one of the few things I buy for myself when we go to DLR. My DS 15 was at DLR last weekend (Mar. 9 and 10) with his HS Band. He was shopping around and found the cutest antenna balls I'd ever seen. He bought one for me and brought it home - I just had to share.

I knew my DIS friends would appreciate my little gift.

Is that a little rain poncho? How cute is that?!? How many do you have in your collection? We only have one...the Christmas tree. We put in on every year for our drive down during the holiday season. But I've some super cute ones at DL....
Thanks for sharing!

I just bought myself one of those a few weeks ago at DTD and mine is different than yours. I like yours better.
Mine doesn't have the Mickey on the back of the rain poncho. Boo Hoo.

How do you display yours? I don't put them on the car because they get stolen within hours when I park my car anywhere.
I cut a piece 2X4 the length of my dining room door and cut 3 holes width wise and about 20 down the length of the wood and drilled them to fit small dowels. I have 3 lengths of dowel, 1 inch, 6 inches and 10 inches so the heads are all visable, one behind the other. Scred the 2X4 into the door frame above the door and it is there for everyone to see. Not computer literate so I can't show photos.

We bought the same one on our recent trip. We also found a Mickey Jack Sparrow one that was pretty cool.

We no longer put them on our car anymore because they have a tendency to disappear. Ticks me off that people who obviously like Disney would steal something like this.

OMG that is soooooooooooooooo CUTE!!!!! I think I'd have to start a "collection" just so I could buy that one topper!! ADORABLE!!!!

I have 3 Christmas ones, one for New Years, a "superman" one that my hubby keeps at his office, valentines day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, baseball, princess, Halloween (pumpkin), Thanksgiving, '07, 4th of July, Goofy TOT and I used to have a pirate one. The pirate one got lost when my antenna broke off my car on the freeway. I'm actually really sad about that one, since that is the one that started my collection. My oldest DS bought it for me about 7 years ago when he was on a HS Band trip to DLR.

I've actually never had any stolen off my car, but have friends who have.

My collection - minus the princess one.

My DS 15 with Minnie on his recent trip - the only character he took pictures with.

I would love to see how you've displayed yours. Upload your photos to photobucket. It's the easiest way I've found to do it.

And how sad that yours doesn't have the Mickey on the back - I think that's part of what makes it so cute. :upsidedow

So cute!!! I love the rain poncho! We have a blue Mickey ball with silver glitter ears from the Year of a Million Dreams...2008...on our minivan. I can't believe no one has stolen it in all that time. I usually buy a new ball when we visit the parks, but I just can't take this one off the van. I'm seeing how long it will last!

That is so cute! I'm going to have to look for that next time we are there.

Right now we have Capt Mickey (Disney Cruise Line) on my car and Test Track on DH's car. So far we have been lucky and they have not been stolen. But we do take the Test Track one off when we go to DLR.

I have quite a few holiday ones that I switch out on my car too.

I display my antennea balls in two golf ball display cases on top of a bookcase. It's great because the cases have glass doors so I don't have to dust the collection. I have about 120 of them - all different - I've been collecting for a LONG time. The only problem with the golf ball cases is that the taller antennea balls don't fit.

Looks like I have a new addiction! Hopefully they'll have Lighting McQueen ones when we go in August! :)

I have that one too.....very cute.
I have been collecting for years.......I think I am at 350 or so, could be more.
I have them displayed all around my family room on stands DH made. Actual antennas mounted on wood bases. 5-14 per base.
That is one thing I always buy when we go to the parks. I think I got 4 last time.

All you hard core collectors make my collection seem very small. ;)

I guess I'll just have to catch up. DH will LOVE that! :lmao:

Another antenna topper collector here...

I saw that cute poncho one online last year sometime. When I was at DLR in August, I looked for it but couldn't find it. At the time, I figured it was just a WDW item and hadn't made it west yet. On second thought, it could have been considered seasonal and not sold in California during the dry summer months. I definitely still need to get that one!

I usually purchase two of each when I acquire new ones, as I do put them on my car. I buy a backup just in case some mean person decides they need the topper more than I do. Of course, that 'back-up' would never go on the car since it would then be my last one of that design. I guess I've been very fortunate, as I have not 'lost' one yet (knock on wood).

I usually swap them out about once a week, depending on how many I have for the month. There have been so many cute ones over the years for October that I have to switch them every 4 or 5 days so that I get a chance to use them all.

I've had an idea on how to display them at home for a couple of years now, but just have never gotten around to it. The idea is to get some dowels and make 'flowers' out of the antenna toppers and arrange them in a vase. Of course, they would also get switched out each month with toppers for the season with some classics thrown in. Some day I'll get around to that very simple project.

It's refreshing to see so many other dedicated topper collectors in the Disney community. :goodvibes

I've got over 150 of them, and LOVE them all! I check eBay every day to scout out new ones (or older ones that I don't have!). I have mine displayed on those stand-up wooden thread spool holders. I get them at Tuesday Morning or fabric stores. LOVE them!!!

We have 5 & my all time favorite is Mickey wearing a NY Giants football helmet :woohoo:

Count me in as someone who has many Mickey antenna toppers that rotated spending time on my car antenna for years.

Imagine my dismay when I brought home a new car a few years ago and went to put my antenna topper on it. THERE WAS NO ANTENNA!!!!!!!!!!

This has been a source of angst for me for a couple years now. No antenna! I finally found a solution though! You know how some people hang a tennis ball in the garage to know exactly how far to pull in? I bought an adorable DCL Captain Mickey antenna topper and hung that instead! I love that Captain Mickey greets me each time I pull in. My daughters ask for him to "kiss" our windshield, too! :lovestruc
