Answering to people who don't "get" WDW?

i missed this thread yesterday. i so get what everybody is saying. i've heard it a million times too.

my friends don't understand. they went for a day when they were 5 and didn't get it and that was 30 years ago. they go camping every year. ick bugs and outside and hot and peeing in the woods. ICK!

my extended family doesn't get it either. good...you won't want to tag along on family vacations and make me miserable. that's great for me!

sure i'd love to see more of the real world, but where am i going to find that for $450 per person for 5/6 days?? 450 is what we paid last sept/oct for 5/6 days, park hoppers and free dining. where am i going to get free dining at some of the best restaurants in the real world?

i actually say what i think in the real world...i don't censor myself at all which is really shocking, i guess...so when i hear again? i say usually horribly rude things to that person. especially if it's been say almost 3 years since i've gone to wdw last and they've gone camping 3 times in 1 year for the past 3 years. why are YOU going again is my answer when i hear that.

i'd rather save money up, ride on fun rides, eat at top restaurants and see a change of scenery. woods all look the same. :confused3

I usually tell them I go back because it is my happy place.
I also go to other places...we do a fair amount of travelling actually.
I also thank them because since they don't "understand" Disney, they will be one or two or ten less people I will have to deal with when I am there, since they won't be there!:thumbsup2

What do you tell people when they hear you are going to WDW, and they ask, "Why again" or, "Don't you want to see OTHER parts of the world"?

For me the answer is simple - To me, it's utopia. I forget all of my troubles and only have fun. And about "seeing the world"... Yeah, sure! I do... just I want to do THIS more right NOW.

Putting this into words that other people can understand is another thing.

What do you tell people?

We just tell people, that were going to Walt Disney World and that's where we like to go on vacation.
