Just back from a long weekend at WDW. We stayed at the Poly this time--greeted with the magical news that we were upgraded to a room with a castle view in the Tahiti building!
The room was spacious and clean, the view was magnificient, and hey--when did Disney switch soap/shampoos? I'm so behind the times! Loved the new goodies in the bathroom!
The Poly is perfect for Disney-goers who really want to feel like they're at an island oasis/escapist vacation. Lush, lovely landscaping. Great pool and activities/amenities in the Ceremonial house. We thought it was a little big, though--or maybe just too far a haul back to our room after a long day at the parks. We ended up using the TTC more than the monorail stop at the Poly itself.
The parks were bustling--I thought crowds were about the same as when we usually go in the summer. But the weather! Absolutely perfect! Lows 80's, little humidity, sunshine. I could get used to that!
Here's a listing of some attractions/restaurants we enjoyed for the first time:
We tried out the Finding Nemo ride at Living Seas (though I don't think the pavilion is called that anymore)--cute, but perhaps not worth the 30 min. wait.
Also visited Disney Quest--after the CyberSpaceMountain and the Jungle Cruise, I was 'bout ready for some virtual hurlage! Give me the real rides any day. My DD12 loved them, though.
We ate at Raglan Road--and loved it. I had the mussels, we shared the calamari and goat cheese appetizers, enjoyed some libations...Great music, great place!
Also enjoyed One Man's Dream at the Studios--and became a bit verklempt. I am in awe of Walt's imagination and creativity, and so thankful for what he's built--it's brought me and my family much happiness over the years!
We were so hoping we'd have to stay another night at the happiest place on earth due to snow back home, but no such luck. I will say it is EXTREMELY hard to return to the frozen, blustery north after such a perfect weekend! The only way I can cope is to start planning my next trip!

Thats going to be my new phrase for watching video games. I can't even go in to Disney Quest--it gives me vertigo. Sounds like you had a great time!
We must be related in another life. Who needs to sock away all the money when there's perfectly awesome WDW vacations to be had???!!! Congrats on getting the good room at the Poly! I hope to stay there the next time we go to WDW. I know what you mean about coming back to the frozen tundra after being in beautiful sunny FL! Brrrrr!
