another "why do you always go to disney" thread

I seem to handle it like so many others here, I usually just say we are going to Florida....I really don't care what they think, but I also don't want to spend the next 15mins explaining why we like it there. Sometimes when pushed I relate it to having a summer or winter cottage, without all of the upkeep. WDW is our first choice whenever we are thinking of vacations, this is due to everyone myself, DH, DD11, DD19 having completely different ideas of what we want from a vacation. WDW gives all of us what we want without making the others feel like they are suffering. So until I can brainwash my DH into going to the beach all day every day for a week or just enjoy people watching WDW it will be.

I have found that most people tend to do the same type of vacations every year, cruise, head for the shore the mountains whatever.I am known at work for my Disney vacations.Anytime someones haeding to disney they hunt me down and pick my brain. There is one other co-worker who goes down every year and gets the whole disney experience. for us it's the one place where we go time and time again and have agreat time with our families. My wife and son and I spend every moment together and really enjoy doing that.We start smiling the moment we get there and don't stop for weeks afterwards. We live and breath Disney..how do you explain that to someone. It's not just a vacation it's so much more.I dont measure my trips by rides or restaurants or how many things I was able to do.It's all the feelings AND memories that i bring home.

With limited resources and a family of five yet adoring vacations, we've made wdw our vacation of choice. It's literally a one stop shop. There is something for all of us to enjoy and it's such a great place for a family to build memories. When we got the planning video and the dvc video we knew we had found our perfect fit. We will be going every year [wish it was more], and I am sure our vacations will be a mix of the new and sentimental.

There are no other chances in my life when I can be a child again for a little while – those times are precious to me and I revel in them. I really don’t think there are adquate words to explain these feelings to folks who don’t get it. I think they are really missing out…….

I really think that is the key...my hubby and I are kids again when we are there! We enjoy our DDs (14,10) in an entirely different way. When you are screaming through the first loop of the Rock n Roller coaster with your kid you tend to see each other in a whole new way!! :earboy2:

To sum it up we go back to Disney year after year for the enjoyment and we find it is the only place on earth we go to other than our cottage that we get there and completely forget about everything. We find when we get there we lose track of everything going on outside of the trip we don't go on the internet we don't pick up a newspaper or watch the news we just enjoy the trip and the surroundings.
