I hate asking uestions like this sometimes, so forgive me if it's been asked a million times before!

We are planning on hitting UO and IoA on October 3rd (Tuesday). Now that I just got prices on HHN's and the Express passes for them (can you say :scared1:?! It was the express pass that shocked me most for the 6th...) I'm debating on getting Express passes for October 3rd to help save some money.
So here's my questions...
1. Do you think I need the EP for 10/3?
2. If I don't buy them in advance, are they a different price at the gate? I understand that I run the chance of them not being available too...
3. Should I swallow my pride and just buy them anyways since we are doing both parks in one day on the 3rd and it'll help us get through the parks faster?

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the help!

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking but here goes anyway.

If you plan to do both parks during the day on 3rd October, this is what I would do. Unless you have already bought your tickets, I would also just get the 1 day 1-park ticket and then upgrade to the 2-park if it seems like you will have time to do both. Get there for opening on the 3rd and do as much as possible in the 1st park. Use that to judge how busy the 2nd park may/may not be. For a Tuesday in October, personally, I wouldn't buy the EPP but then I wouldn't try to do both parks in one day (just my opinion). HHN and the Express passes for it are a completely different kettle of fish. Are you saying you plan to do HHN on the 6th? As this is a Friday night, I would think it would be fairly busy and I would consider purchasing the Express passes for this.

You won't need the EPs during the day. Crowds are very light in October during the day. You can show up in the morning, and go on all the rides.

At night time during HHN it's a completely different event. The EPs for HHN let you skip the line for the houses, and that's worth it no matter when you go. The lines for the houses are long, even if you do the Stay and Scream thing, so that's a good deal.

No matter what, I have to dish out the $$ for HHN's express pass. That was a given because it's the only way to do HHN's (for those that have never been there at least!)

For the 3rd we already have our 2 day hopper tickets. Rovia: Even if we are doing both parks, you don't think we'll need the EP for a weekday?

And since I've already asked so many questions, why not one more?! What time do you suggest to be in the park by on the 6th to be able to make it to the "holding area" for HHN's?
