Another way to make a little extra cash for our Disney funds

I am so happy to have found expotv through my dis friends.. and I can't WAIT to get my first payment transferred into my bank account! I seriously think I'm starting to get addicted though, because all day long I look at things in my office, or while I go out somewhere and I think to myself... hmmm.. I could get $5 for a review on that..... LOL! :rotfl:

I feel the same.
I want to do reviews on everything and am addicted. DH makes fun of me. I told him he shouldn't make fun because it's extra money we didn't have before. I've been trying to talk him into doing some, but he won't.

I quite my job in August and am glad I found this because it has been a big adjustment losing my income.

Is anyone else getting rejected dvd for product not clearly shown? I got about 75 dollars worth rejected for that and you can see the movie playing beside me and im holding the box and you can see it. Im just wondering if they had someone in there just rejecting everything as my friend had teh same thing happen to her too.

I haven't and I was surprised... check me out Ladysunflr at expo... all my dvd reviews are me holding up my laptop to the camera to show.. but I also hold up the dvd case.. not sure what yours look like compared to mine but I haven't had a problem...

I haven't had any rejected, but I do make sure you can clearly see the case< sounds like you were showing it though. I know of too many trying to get around actually owning the dvd and reviewing it.

I did show just the disc on a couple since I had no idea where the cases were. I had some weird bogus rejections at the end of the month, 3 of not in database, yet I chose their product already in it!

*knock on wood* But I haven't had any rejected for that reason...I'm ArmySister on there if you want to check some out...I hold it up while I talk and then zoom in on the video for a short clip after I get done talking. That may be what the problem is...maybe it's that you aren't showing the clip clearly??

I just went on expo and saw your approved dvd ones... If I can make a suggestion, maybe try holding your portable dvd player while you give the review, just so it's closer to the camera.. they might like that... I also sent a friend req there to you.. I'm watching more of your stuff now.. gotta love the pennies!!!

I was thinking that might be what it was. I usually do zoom in on the portable but this night i was just trying to get done fast and had it sit behind me to play in teh background while i was talking to save time. they approved some but rejected some. the rejected ones are the same as the approved ones so i dont know.

. I can't believe DVD's are still $5! We are way out of those, .

Hi,
I just wanted to let you know that I did a bunch of rented DVD's from our public library. At our Library, we can rent children's DVD's for free. I reviewed all the ones we owned and then saw on Expo's formus that you can review rented DVD's.:cool1: My expo user name is slriver.

Did you hold up the box the rental came in? I get Netflix and could review all those but they aren't with cases, of course.

Can I review videos I rent from Blockbuster if I am getting them in the mail and they are not coming in a case? If they say you can do rented DVDs, I wonder why you have to show the DVD case if you are showing the movie in your review.

They rejected my Lilo and Stitch DVD review because I showed one of the extra features in my review, instead of the main movie. I thought that was strange because I did HSM and showed an extra feature instead of the movie and that one got accepted. I just added a very short clip of the movie at the end of the Lilo and Stitch one and then they accepted it.

I don't know, good question...I haven't done any of our rented ones b/c I didn't know you could! Guess I need to read the forums more - htat will be great.

I finally reached my limit of 75 approved with Shared Reviews! I had a bunch waiting approval, but now they've added more money and the approvals are rolling in. If you were waiting to write your reviews, get to it.

Yes, I did hold up the case. The ones we get at the library come with the case. The case clearly has the library bar code and a sticker saying "1.00 late fee" I'm not sure how they do the Netflix and Blockbuster ones. Sorry I'm not much help on that. I found out about the rented ones on the Expo forum General Expo TV Discussion.

ok, I'm still new with the expo thing, yet i'm totally addidcted... here's my question: What are shared reviews? is that just another way to say "the product review videos we do?" sorry if I sound stupid... :thumbsup2

Shared reviews is another way to make some $! You can either upload a video or just write a review, I just write mine. It has to be 750 characters, I think, it's easy to do. They pay $10 for every 5 reviews that are approved. Go sign up!!

ACK!! ok well after a few hours of searching expotv.com to figure out what shared reviews are... LOL.. I typed it in to yahoo and realized that it's another $$$$$$$$$$ site... sweet... ok, I'm about to sign up, just curious how they pay also...is it paypal? giftcards?? :)

Do these all really work?? I'm such a skeptic when it comes to these things, but after seeing so many testimonials on this site, it's hard to not believe it.

I went to ExpoTV and on their forums it seems like many are complaining of videos not being approved even if they met all the guidelines? I don't want to spend time on each review only to have them all rejected.

For expotv, I uploaded 75 videos in november.. only two did not get approved... one was because I shot it in the middle of the night ( couldn't sleep ) and the lighting was horrible ( I knew it, but took a stab in the dark anyway... ) and the second was denied because the video cut off before the end... both totally my mistakes.. I think as long as you take a little care in doing it you'll be fine.. you can check out any of our reviews for examples.... but it's easy money to me!!!!! :thumbsup2 :laundy:

What kind of camera do you all use? I already have Windows Movie Maker software, so that's likely what I will use to edit, but I wonder what kind of camera works best? I'm getting one for Christmas, and I am leaning towards the ones with a built in hard drive.

I have a panasonic lumix mc-lz2 ( I think ) It's a normal digital camera and I've had it for about 2 years or so now...and lo and behold.. two months ago I discovered that it takes movies also... (I'm a blonde, can you tell??) so I use that... it has a USB cord and software for me to upload it on to my computer.. I don't do anything fancy... I take all my reviews for the most part on the first take, no rehersing.. .and I don't edit anything, so it's quick!
The only thing that is time consuming is the actual uploading time... other than that.. it's quick quick quick!
