Another way to make a little extra cash for our Disney funds

UPDATE: It's back on!!!

I dunno. I could say that if everything eventually goes to $2 each, I may lose interest once the fall holiday season is upon us and there is not enough time for reviews. Way too much time spent for $200 per month. Now if they keep some things at $5 and $10, well that is a different story... or at least until we run out of those items! :lmao:

I must say, when I have time to actually view the videos, I find the site very helpful as far as the different products that are out there. Boy, but their forum is so very user unfriendly. I dread checking it out when I run into problems. Too bad more people don't use the DIS type of message board. One of the best around! :)

Thanks!!!! I was able to just now upload my two! Yay!

And I totally agree with you. It is not worth my time to do $2 videos for anything and travel reviews at not worth it at $5 for me. I put a lot of time and thought into them. Even $10 isn't worth the hour it takes to do one, but I am learning iMovie and I enjoy it. If I stopped enjoying them, I would quit. The money isn't good enough alone.

And YES! That forum is awful to use. I wasn't sure how to take how they responded to my question from yesterday. I had problems with their site not taking the small files and they said the file was too big. The response? "I see you were able to upload." Well, duh. It took me a few HOURS to finally get them in! Thanks for the non-help, there!

I really try not to complain too much, especially when I am making any money, :) but Expo still has 50 videos of mine that they haven't approved and some as far back as the 17th! Last month I didn't have any problems, they had approved all of them three days before the end of the month and i submitted them a lot later than I am this month! I would love to see the $$$ in my earnings pile!! BTW, thank you to all of you DISers that have been watching my videos! The pennies really do add up!! :thanks: (mandmk on Expo)

I know what you mean about not wanting to complain. My grown DD and I have had some good fun times laughing our heads off filming these things when things go wrong and we have to do it over because someone starts laughing. We also have our moods when we've had enough.

We, too, are still awaiting approval on many. We have one review from 8/16 that has not been approved. We have a couple from 8/20. We got tripped up with over 30 rejections for out of sync this month, so that was a huge setback.

If we reach the 100 quota for Aug, I will post a dancing banana. :teeth: We don't have them filmed yet though. Is anyone doing the 100 videos dance yet?

Okay, well, I don't mind complaining for both of you! :cool1: :rotfl2: :cool1:

Yes, I am making some money. But the amount of time and stress almost doesn't equate to how much I have in my kitty. My current earnings is sitting at $150.37. I've submitted 43 $10 videos and I sure would like to see a larger kitty. Meow!

And really. Their client service needs much improving. Yes, they are paying us but just think what they are getting in return. We've told everyone we know about this and their coverage is widening day by day.

Me and DD got into a giggle festival last weekend and got like maybe 2 videos done. It was awful everytime she would start to talk it would just crack me up and then she got to the point where I would look at the ground and she would start laughing.

My goal was 100. I fell short of that by a horrible margin. But, I only get two hours a night to play with expotv as I work about 10 hours a day and my husband likes to eat dinner each night. What was he thinking? :scared:

See, now that is more than worth it! Good times!

I did way more than 100 videos this month because of all the rejections earlier in the month. Now that I've gotten all the technical issues straightened out I think I have 55 approved and about 37 left pending. So if they all get approved it will be 92! I am going to hit it hard next month once the kids get in school and I have more time and hopefully get 100 approvals!

They approved some of my Disney vids if anyone wants to watch - Garden Grill, Donald's Breakfastosauras, Chef Mickey's, POFQ, and CBR. They rejected MK and Epcot. And Crystal Palace is still pending. . .

I wanted to make 100 too but it is so hard when they are not approving them to take a chance. I got a few rejections due to poor sound/audio but they were fine-shot outside and bright. I emailed them about it.

I don't think views on a video posted Facebook/Myspace/etc.. count towards your 1 cent. Your own views do not count either. At least that is what their own info says.

Why did they reject MK and EPCOT?

I remember reading on here that you can have a DD or DW/DH review things on your account also. How can you do that under your user name and do you have to make an appearance in the video.

For instance my wife has a lot of victoria secret fragrance things... I don't really want to review them but she would be willing... how will they react if she uploads them under my username?

or will she need to make her own user name? also what age do you have to be to review items. I have a SIL who is 16 right now... would she be able to review under my username also? she is way into gaming and could do some great reviews for them.

My husband hasn't had a hot meal in 3 weeks. Just kidding! But let's just say the whole family has sacrificed. More sandwiches have been eaten, the reviewed items can sometimes get in the way, family members get dirty looks if they wander into the kitchen during a "session," instead of being told to flatten and recycle those cereal boxes and other items, they now have to remember to save them in original form, and things can get a little topsy turvy around here. But it's not like I am sitting around in my free time eating bon bons.... oh, wait! oh, shucks, bon bons payout only $2, right? ;) I do not believe I have ever had a bon bon.

Well, imo, everyone is better off having their own accounts since there is a 100 video limit (at this writing)... more money to be made. BUT! If your wife reviews things on your account, you need to show your face at some point, along with her showing her face. It might be easier if she had her own account, but that's up to you. You can share a Paypal account though.

Your SIL is too young to have her own account, but she can review under a parents' account or another person's account if the person is 18 or over, but the account holder has to be sure that they have permission from her parents and the account holder (you) would have to appear in the review along with your SIL. I hope I got that right. :) You might want to read the expo terms and FAQ to be sure. tink

Why did they reject MK and EPCOT?

They said that they couldn't see me well enough in the pictures. . . I did them all the same way, standing in the same spot, holding pictures up to the camera as I talked about the destinations. :confused3 I will do them again next month and add some more lighting and see if that helps. . .

Thank you. I am now worried about my review I submitted on New York Las Vegas. I didn't have any good shots of me at that casino, so I did put the one in of me...but I am walking away from the camera! You can clearly see my backside and my hair, though. I hope it is good enough.

I just watched your review of the CBR. Nice job!!! I write copy and gather my thoughts on what I want to say for my review. Let's just say I wouldn't make it as an ab-libber on the news. You, on the other had, do a great job.

Thanks for watching! I am suprised that they accepted them because I noticed that the pictures are kind of dark and you can't really see me in them too well.
Talking about Disney destinations is really easy for me because I love them so much!! Especially CBR!
They just approved the Crystal Palace!! :woohoo: Now I have 2 more travel destinations still pending that have on location footage of a couple of places in Pittsburgh.

Wow my 8 that I uploaded yesterday after that huge fiasco with small size being too large were ALL APPROVED today!!!!! I know it is not much as I only got $2 for them but I have a total of $28 for practically 18mins of video time and uploading time.... WOW!

I am doing some electronics tonight as i see those are $10 categories :)

Can someone help!!!

Are they still paying $10 for travel? I saw that luggage is included under travel?

Also for cars I saw that that includes accessories too! (Well I saw it under the "watch videos" section). Armarol, cleaning supplies, etc.

All of my disney pics are still on the computer. How can I do a video with them still on the computer? BTW I use Windows Movie Maker.

TIA!:goodvibes
