Another way to make a little extra cash for our Disney funds

I was reading on Expo's site that their partners were Buy.com, Yahoo.com and some other sites so I started searching on the sites to see if any DIS videoers would pop up.
http://video.yahoo.com/video/group?gid=100071&fr=
(This page actually shows several DISers (Mermaid and Quietgirl included)).

At the top of the Yahoo page there is a search bar, I clicked on the video tab and searched travel destination video reviews and it took you to a page that on the side you could click on "Expo TV reviews". And this is the page that came up!

Video Games & Systems:
Does this mean I can do a Gameboy and then all of my son's games seperately? He has alot.

Well yes and no....

You can do 1 GameBoy and then only 49more video games :lmao:

I have a few more $2 reviews I want to do tonight so that I can round off the month of august on a happy note and then fresh start tomorrow with the September Vids... choosing Wisely so that I can get as close to $250 as possible :)

I don't like the part about the product having to be in their database. I have uploaded many common items that I could not find in their database. Then I have also found items in their database that I put in manually because they had the category all wrong. However, I do like the part of being able to review an item from a chain restuarant. They won't let two or more members of the household duplicate items, but I wonder if DH and I could both do a different item from the same chain restuarant? ARGH... They are making it more and more difficult. Hoping for a $500.00 month between DH and I. This month, I think we'll get $1500.00.

Well I doubt we will waste much more time with expo. They are getting a little to nitpicky for me to bother. If I can find some stuff in the 10 and 5 categories I will do it otherwise they can forget it. ALso, I dont like that you have to choose their database..they categorize stuff all wrong.

When reviewing a chain restaurant, do you have to show the restaurant? Or can you do the review from your home about the restaurant and the 1 menu item?:confused3

if i upload tonight before 12am est does that mean they are for August promotion or will they count towards Septembers 50 reviews as the sept stuff is up already?

According to their rules it would count as August.

I like that movies and DVD's are back up to $5 and travel is still $10. Too bad about the 50 cap but I only got about 40 done this month anyway.

For DVD's what are you going to do? just have the DVD playing in the back ground or have it on the startup screen? are you going to have the DVD's sound turned on?

I have not reviewed a DVD yet since they were $2 this month. I guess I will show the box and maybe a clip on the tv then just talk about it.

I just posted on their forum about the DVD thing-for clarification. I can't have it playing on a TV since my webcam is too far away-which really sucks!!!

Do you have a portable DVD player or know someone who would lend you one for a few days? And while you're reviewing the movies, review the portable DVD player, too. :rotfl2:

:sad2: I know that quote is for the rules next month but! I did a review on a restaurant that is in Maine and instead of it being $10 they put it in the food & beverage category TODAY! I had it under travel destination. I thought (this month anyway!) we were NOT supposed to even DO a chain restaurant! This one is SO not a chain (although it should be!). So, should I email, or do you think that its pointless, OR they are right?? I hope all my other ones which are Disney restaurants, still make the $10 cut!

At least the new rules do seem a BIT clearer and detailed. That's a plus anyway!

lmao...oh my....thats pretty neat!! scary that i am all over the internet now, but hey!! i agree with what a pp said, that would be neat if it linked back to the original site somehow so we could get our pennies for people watching them!!

$5 x 50 movies = $250!:goodvibes Not bad money to me; I for one will keep with it at least for now. Sure they're slow, unorganized, and don't seem to follow any sort of consistant rules:sad2: , BUT for the amount of time I have to put in, it is still worth the money to me (unless of course the 6 I have pending aren't approved sometime this year:lmao: )

Thanks to those that posted the new Sept info. Wow, so many changes. I am really happy to see the "new" $5 categories, really sad to see how little $10 categories there are, really ticked about the 50 cap, and do not like the database deal... but the $5 category will keep me going... I hope.

I don't like all the rules and regulations, but I have to admit, from a viewers standpoint, I really don't like wading through the useless reviews (you've all seen these) to get to the good stuff, so I am glad they are becoming more particular about their reviews.

Some of their members with the 'highest number of reviews submitted' are using such inferior cameras, it is painful to watch, so I skip them over. There are other reviews for exercise equipment where they do not even show the entire apparatus and just sit there instead of demonstrating it, so you have no idea how it works. I am glad the reviews will be of better quality now from a shoppers perspective, but no, I do not look forward to, as another DISer mentioned, 'how many ways to review a headboard' lol. I think we need a 'special expo headboard banging' emoticon. :lmao:

Of course we are kicking ourselves for all the items we did for $2 that are now $5, but we will put this behind us and move on.

Whew! Ok, finally the August dance! tink

anyone know how to get the link for your movie so you can paste it in an email or blog?:confused3

This is from their FAQs section:
"How can I embed videos in my blog, social networking site or other web page?
Every video on ExpoTV includes code that you can copy and paste into your blog or any social networking site. On every video detail page, look beneath the video to find its URL and Embed code. The URL allows you to link to the ExpoTV page with your video on it. The Embed code allows you to place the video player anywhere that allows HTML code, including blogs, forums and other social networking sites."
