Hi fellow expo-ites. I'm already having problems uploading this morning. This is going to be another long day of struggling with the expo site trying to upload.

I just noticed on their forum another user said they heard a rumor that expo is going to be paying a LOT less for the videos beginning Aug 1. While it is only a rumor, we do know from dabute's post, changes are on the way. I hope they tell us today.

This is just my little theory, but I'm betting they will keep it at $5, but the competition to get your video approved will be fierce. Like they will only accept top-notch well-edited videos. Just my personal opinion based on absolutely nothing. But ya'll are right. This is way too good to be true. Still, I'm glad to have gotten in on the goodies this month. Now to battle the Expo website to get all 100 uploaded!!

Hi,
im using my webcam to make my videos and ive uploaded about 15 of them and they all uploaded fine yesterday but today when i looked, all their statuses say video error... any clue why that may be???

WELL......
I didn't procrastinate- I just joined a few days ago and have been working hard to get these reviews done.

I can get on the site, fill out the information pages, hit upload but then it happens................. I either sit and wait to get the "unavailable page" a longgggg time later or the system speeds through the upload and then says DONE on the bottom bar on page 3---BUT page 4 - the thank you page never appears nor does the offer to upload another video-

I'm really frustrated- I stayed up all night to get all 100 done, edited, and loaded into my computer- had to catch a few hours of shut eye ( the toddler needs an awake Mommy or he has all kinds of forbidden fun! ) and now I'm stuck-
Oh, well, I guess it was too easy to be true- and now today I see the message of changes for payment-

Whatever changes they make in payment won't stop me from doing the reviews I don't think. it's easy, a bit to easy.

I do wonder if all the new subscribers recently have caused them to rethink the criteria-- will the videos need to be better? If so then I will try harder.

Honestly, I am trying to get video's done in a very short period of time so am not as worried about presentation skills as I should be; I am doing a bunch to get them done so I have extra money for my vacation.

But I want to continue doing this every month so I can go on vacation a lot more!

The front page now says make up to $10 per video instead of $5....hmmmm....no other information.

There are products with lots of detail - think cars, televisions, even lawn mowers - that are more complicated and time-consuming to review. Our viewers in turn, whether they're watching a video on our site or on a partner site like Smarter.com, tend to spend a lot more time researching items that cost more money. For those products we're paying creators $10.00 per review in August.
By contrast there are tons of products that cost less and are easier to demonstrate. In August, we're paying $2.00 for those reviews.

I've already done all my pet stuff and scrapbooking stuff. Thank God for the Dis though! I would never have noticed the new setup until it was too late. Now I'm going to review a bunch of beauty products while they are still $5!

Thank you for your response, do I need to purhcase a different software or need any other adapters. Sorry for all the ? but sadly I am a clueless wonder when it comes to technology!

The webcam should come w/everything you need.

the only catch to using a webcam might be that expotv won't accept the videos in the format you save them right from your webcam. Mine is logitech brand and won't get accepted until I first take them to Windows Movie Maker and resave them from there. It's one additional step, but a very easy and very quick one.

I am a little confused as to which are $10. I'll have to go and check out the site, I see both amounts next to each other and then the list below them both.

I have really been trying to make the content informative vs just doing them real quick. I think though that might hurt. The longer i talk the longer someone has to watch and I haven't made much as far as people watching them. I don't mind even if it is $2, but sure liked the $5 better.

Well I am back from dropping my DS off at Bible school.

We did not meet the 100 cap this month, I've uploaded 66 videos total. Only 13 have been approved though. I have had NONE videos approved today so far
Anyway, most of our videos were in the new $2.00 range so I am happy we did as many as can did.

The good thing is we haven't really started reviewing my son's toys and games yet. We did do a couple but there are many more. I see now that is worth $10.00 a video!
Plus my son's b-day is coming back in 11 days so I am sure he will be getting more toys I can review

I also see pets is in the $10 range. We have two cats and there is some reviews that we can do of their stuff.

Looks like we will have to dig into our kitchen and garage for some of the $10 reviews.

I think we will be doing a little bit of both the $10 and $2 videos.

I also like the fact that you can review two different flavors of ice cream now.

Even if you only make 100 $2.00 videos, that is an extra $200 a month. I will take that! It's better then nothing.

I wonder though if you will be allowed to make 100 $10 videos and make $1,000 a month

Yeah- I had those seperated when I copied and pasted but the site decided to lump them together- it does look jumbled together doesn't it? Anyway, glad that dabute had a different layout of the information!- Thanks debute!


So, does this mean that the 25 kids toys videos that are already pending can't be removed - I've tried every way I can think of to remove them from the site so I can save them for next month

ALSO--does this mean that my shampoo reviews for this month ( July ) are still going to be paid at the $5 rate since I uploaded them before the end of July????

Question, questions, I am so co-dependant on what happens in my environment?

Don't know if anyone can answer this question, but here it goes.

Does anyone know how the Travel Destinations category works?

We are going to South Dakota next month (August) and will be staying at 2 different hotels during our stay. Could we review the 2 different hotels and make two different videos for $10 each?
Also does it include travel places, like Bear Country USA, etc? Could we do a review on the places we visited also?

I am not sure how the Travel Destinations category works.

Thanks for seperating out the catagories. I figured that had happened. I just hadn't clicked expotv yet to read as I am uploading more. I waited to make sure some were approved before I made more and now I see I probably shouldn't have done that. Although I am not having too many problems, hit a slow period earlier. I started at 6 am. I make 10, upload 10.

I can't wait to do more toys! That is mainly what I love anyways. I had done some, but we have more then enough to do more. Can I do the little people garage, then house, then farm or just one little people thing? Anyone know?

I would think that anything that you buy in one box would be one review. So if you purchase the farm separately from the house and the garage then you should be allowed to do a review for each. Lets say the garage comes with a car, you probably couldn't review the garage and the car separately.
