Another waitlist success story

My daughter and I are heading down in February and our waitlist came through! Yippee!! It came in two parts but we were able to get a 1BR at the Boardwalk. I do have a question for you guys…how do I merge the two separate reservations into 1? Super excited to be able to stay put for the whole trip. Now if only the park hopping restrictions get lifted by then.

Login to the DVC site and get to your dashboard. Then use the chat function to request the reservations be merged. They'll take down the info and it has been taking about 10 days to actually happen. Other options are emailing or calling, but turnaround time would be the same.

I had a waitlist come through for February too. Now I only have to move rooms once instead of twice.

Assuming the rooms are the same view and on the same membership, MS can do it for you.

A one day waitlist came through for my friends in April. We’ll celebrate their anniversary and we are staying at BCV. All I could get for them was SSR, and today BCV came through for them!

In October/November I got a long and detailed reason why MS no longer does this. They put in a request for me and I settled back to wait. Was getting close to departure and nothing had happened. Called again and got the same spiel, at which point I noted to the CM that we were well inside the week to 10 days they were quoting. My request was in maybe 2-3 weeks early.

CM kept me on the phone and made a call. It took quite some time, but it did get resolved.

I'm now in the process of booking BWV for Nov 2023. Getting single days as they are dropped, just like last year. Once I have the days I need I guess I'll be calling again.

It did take awhile, but MS did merge our April BCV stay into one stay when a waitlist came through for me.

At least now I'm down to two reservations! I don't dare cancel a night as I'd probably never get it back.

@Judique Yesterday MS merged a BLT stay for me after I added on a day. It didn’t even take two weeks for them to do that. This was for July 1-4.

I’m still waiting for mine to get merged. I must want it done by my 60 day mark which is in 5 days.
I may end up calling o Monday if it’s still now done.

Earlier today I received a call/voicemail from DVC Member Services: "Your Waitlist for June at the Grand Cal had been matched ... but you don't have sufficient points available to book it ... please call us back."

WHEE!! I had two reservations for May and didn't mind giving one up to snag June. A quick call to Member Services got everything done: dropped my extra May reservation and booked the W/L June reservation. Yes! The Waitlist worked beautifully and I am so thankful for the phone call from Member Services today!

I was shocked yesterday when my waitlist for May 11th at Boardwalk (studio) came through. I had put it in before Moonlight Magic was even announced, so figured I was higher up the list, but I didn't expect any to free up until closer to the event registration date.
