another waitlist fail

I'm not really complaining...just commenting.had a Saratoga studio waitlisted (for dec 16) for a month. booked it my self today....saw it avail at 8 am. also saw a lot of Christmas week avail. you gonna tell me none of us had Christmas week waitlisted?

I agree with the other 2 posters question, comments. If you are within 7 days of check-in, there are ZERO wait lists active. And you have to request to stay on the w/l longer than 31 days out because of the penalty for cancellation.

Do I understand you correctly that you did not put the w/l in until a month ago?? Or did I misread that? Christmas time, in fact all of December with DVC members is a super popular time. I book my dates 11 months out, and if I want to stay at a non-home resort, I still book my home resort 11 months out, then jump online and/or call MS at the 7 month inventory release and try to get what I want. If it's not available, I keep what I have and get on the w/l at once. This gives my w/l 7 months to work. (the previous advice would only be applicable if you are staying on WDW property) And the vast majority of the time, I have gotten my wait lists fulfilled in the almost 23 years I have been a member. It is supply vs. demand. You are wanting very high demand dates. I am pretty amazed you were able to get them, Congrat on that! And Merry Christmas!

I would like to add for any members reading this: if you do have an active/valid wait list (did you specify the w/l lasting until 7 days out? Or the regular 31 days out?) and you see your w/l dates available, I would grab and book them and then call MS to report what happened. If there really IS a glitch, they need to be made aware. Taking some screen shots to send would be most helpful to MS as well.
