To remind me to VOTE! OK, whatever, I already did! Also, a person is going from house to house in an Orange T-shirt knocking on Doors, to ask if you voted! A bit MUCH if you ask me!! What if I told her no, would she take me to the place to vote?

When I was in college I did a summer program in London for 6 weeks and had an internship with the local Conservative Party organization. On election day, I had to go around knocking on people's doors (those who said they'd support the Conservatives anyway) reminding them to vote. The practice struck me as a bit odd then, and those I worked with seemed a bit surprised that we didn't do that where I come from.

OT, but what school did you go through? I did a similar program (though longer) through Syracuse University. I got to intern at Voice of America.

Lehigh University... was kind of amusing. I took a class in the mornings at the London School of Economics (which leans heavily left) and worked in the afternoons at the Cities of London and Westminster Conservative Association. Coverd the political spectrum

Actually, while I was there I met Margaret Thatcher on the day of the European Parliament elections and talked with her for about 5 minutes. Amazing experience.

In the 24 years that I have been voting, I have NEVER had anyone knock on my door, or phone me, to ask me to vote! Weird I tell you, weird!

Yesterday we got 6 or 7 calls with recorded messages telling us to vote and there was one on my answering machine today when I got back from voting. Messages included Bill Clinton, Caroline Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, our local union at work, etc. I told my husband to come get me when Abraham Lincoln called, thats who I wanted to talk to!
