Yet another variation of the 'code story'. I had already booked a package for late April at POFQ. I later got the mailer with the pin code, but it doesn't include any April dates (only thru 3/30). After hearing people getting the discount without the PIN AND for other dates, I thought it was worth a call. I called and said I had already booked my trip and flights for April and can't change it. Will you accept the PIN for my dates? I was told 'no', but not because of the dates, but because my PIN was for room only, not a package. So, I left my reservation 'as is'. It just takes away from the planning a little bit to hear of so many people getting the same thing for way less money. Not that I'm not happy for them, I just with Disney was more fair about it.

Yeah, it stinks. Kind of like when you are sitting on an airplane, talking to the guy next to you and you find out he paid hundreds less than you. That always ticks me off. Especially if I'm stuck in the middle seat and he got an isle seat!! I realize that is the way life works, but doesn't mean it can't stink sometimes.

I've been on this situation from the beginning. I haven't seen one incident of the 40% code being applied outside the dates posted.

There is a different 30% off code -- that we know a LOT less about - and that applies for different dates ... and some people have gotten that.

And when I got my intial room only PIN - when I called they offered me the upgrades to a tickets MYW package or a tickets & dining MYW package but I refused. Not that it matters, the discount is still only off the room portion.

If you can find a post with an example of someone whose check-in date falls outside the range of approved dates, please post a link to it here. Cause I haven't seen one.

I hate to even jump into this code mess but I called to make reservations(that I was making regardless of deals) and asked if there were any public codes like the free dinning being offered right now. The CM told me I had a pin attached to my house that I could use. I haven't crunched the numbers but I believe it came out to be about 30% off.

Do you know anything more about the 30% off?

From what I can gather about the 30% off.. its absolutely not good after the end of February or sometime in March... and it's another pincode.

The email or postcard says good at Value Resorts but some reported success using it at other resorts.

From the dates listed in your signature file.. I suspect you got the 40% off..

You have to check the original room rates carefully. A number of people who thought they were getting just 30% off, were actually doing their math with the wrong initial room rate.

Or is the 40% taken off just the room before I made it into the package with dinning and the park tickets?

40% off is the room value only. Tickets and whatever else you add on are not discounted.

it is 40% off room portion of your package. , tickets and dining are not discounted.

Also check to see if they added Trip Insurance. This adds about 100$ to most vacation packages and if you don't want it -- you can ask to have it removed.

Here is the offer for the 30% off. I got it in a snail mail.

Select Disney Value Resorts
$83 per night, plus tax in a standard room most nights 2/15- 2/16, 2/19-3/7, 3/13 - 3/30/07.

Although it was possible to upgrade resorts, it was not possible to change dates. Well, today it wasn't, but two days ago, the CM offered me Dec. 07, and then told me that I had until March 15th to book, as availability allowed. My first choice wasn't available, so I didn't book. Yesterday, I called back to check other resort options, then talked to my hubby about it, and today called back to book it and was told no, my pin was for this code, not the 40% code and that I couldn't book outside of the dates as stated above. I am now quite sad I missed my chance, but alas, it was not meant to be!

As CanadianGuy stated, there hasn't been a reported situation of someone getting the discount outside the specified dates...that is, unless your date of check in is during the specified dates, then any other subsequent dates outside the specified time would be covered by the discounted rate.

People are not getting the same thing for less money because they are booking it within the specified dates. Even if the pin code you received was not room only, he wouldn't be able to apply it because your dates are not within that specified time frame. So Disney is fair in that respect. What would be the point of specifying dates if you could book it at any time?

The 30% offer was indeed a pin code. I received it in my email on January 5th.
