another uy question

from my understand from my guide UY is is really not a factor unless you have to cancel last minute but reading here people eally love there UY. my question is why? why does it matter? so if my UY is December and I will travel pretty much anytime except June or July does this matter or should I ask for another UY?

It's also a factor on tradeouts. If you have a December use year, you would have to decide by July 31 if you wanted to do a tradeout Aug 1 to Nov 30. If you would decide in September that you would like to do a long weekend somewhere (other than the DVC resorts or DL), you could not book it. You also could not bank after July 31.

Mzny people over think use year. We have had Dec use year for 10 years and it never enters our thinking about DVC.
