Another UY question for a newbie

Hi all DVC wise ones

I am considering a 100+ pointish resale at Bay Lake but I have a few questions about UY.

Since our vacation patterns are staying a week (5 nights) in early summer June/July and then maybe a long weekend in Fall for NSSHP what should I be looking for in use year?

I'd look for a June Use Year - which would be best for the June/July trips and would also be find for trips in September - December. June would not be best for trips in April or May.

The real importance of UY is for the occasions when you would need to cancel a reservation and the points would be returned to your account. If you are beyond your banking deadline (the end of the 8th month of your Use Year), you would no longer be able to bank the returned points.

We own June and are summer travelers with the plan to go in the fall or early Winter once we retire.

June UY, for BLT, is a bit hard to find, so I think that March and April UY would work too if one of those shows up first.

The banking deadline for March UY is October 331st and April UY is November 30th--all which will give you flexibility of traveling during the banking window.

The great thing about an April UY is that if you book for Dec, you'd have to cancel 31 days out, so that would still put you within your banking deadline (Nov 30th)

So April works for those traveling every month except Jan-Mar.
