Another use-year question

We are in ROFR now and (hopefully) close in October; yet there are no points coming until December....we would love to go in February or March 2009 for a few days. How soon am I able to make a reservation once we close and are "in the system" and is it possible to make a reservation for dates that soon?

Yes, you can make a reservation for February or March 2009 as soon as you are in the system - about 7 -10 days after you close. Yo do not have to wait until December.

The points "coming in December" are actually already in the account. They are good for any vacation scheduled between 12/1/2008 and 11/30/2009. You could also borrow them if you wanted to vacation before 12/1/2008.

You can always call for a reservation at your home resort up to 11 months prior to arrival. If it's a non-home resort, you can call up to 7 months prior to arrival.

Dec 2008 points are the ones to be used for reservations from 1 Dec, 2008 to 30 Nov, 2009. As soon as DVC has you in the system you can make that reservation. Points are considered used at the date of the stay, not the date you make the reservation.
