I know you can upgrade a park hopper to a Deluxe AP. Are there any things to be concerned about if you do the upgrade on a blockout day?

The final day on our 5 day hopper will be a Saturday which happens to be a blockout day. Will they let me upgrade that day? I'm guessing we'd be OK as long as we don't leave the park after upgrading?

Has anyone done the upgrade on a blockout day?

thanks
KC

Yes you can upgrade on that day, and people who have done it have never reported problems hopping or leaving and coming back that day, though it's something people worry about beforehand!

That is a really good question, but as Molly stated, yes, you can still do it on that last day without being "forced" to get the premium (no blockouts) AP.

Do we just need to make sure we have our hands stamped if we want to leave and come back? I'm assuming when we upgrade they take away our paper ticket that got us in that day and replace it with the plastic AP that is now blocked out for the day. Maybe with the AP and a handstamp you're OK?

Hi - I just found this on another site...so, I guess this must work for upgrades as well. Thanks!

Blackout Dates:

If you buy a restricted Annual Pass (such as the Southern California Annual Passport, which has many "blackout dates"), but you plan to start your trip on one of the blackout dates, the blackout will not apply on the day you purchase the pass. So if you go to Disneyland on a Saturday and buy an Annual Pass that is normally not valid on Saturdays, you will still be able to use it that day at both parks.
