My MIL came here to MN from SD over the weekend for a visit. Instead she ended up in the hospital for what we thought dehydration, anemia and being on the wrong prescritions. It didn't take long for the doc. to find a golf ball size mass in her lung. Based on what it looks like and where it is they are 90 to 95% sure that its cancer. Right now the plan is to send her home to get treatment started. I don't have much faith in the doctors there right now with them missing this mass. She has been seeing many different docs for 5 months at least twice a month for back problems.

All the prayers and good thoughts please.

Beccy

I just want to clarify that I usually refer to my MIL as mom that is what I'll be doing. Although they aren't not my birth family they are my heart family and I'm very close to them.

They now think that Mom has had a stroke possibly last week. I'm not sure about her having one before she got here but Thurs. night is a possiblility. Right now she is very disoriented and they do not know whether its from the cancer spreading, the stroke or the infection that she has.

Mom is scheduled Thursday for a biospy and after that she will come here to my house until she is well enough to go home for treatment. I would love to have Mom stay here so I can take care of her but right now she wants to go home.

All the prayers please. I'm not ready to lose another Mother. Most of the kids are still in denial so I know they aren't ready at all.

Its not a stroke. Its another tumor. Someone who calls himself a doctor found it in May and did nothing. I just can't fathom seeing something like this and not doing anything.

Were hoping that she can see the nurologist on Thurs. when she has the lung biopsy done. She is warming to the idea to staying here with us and have whatever treatment is possible. The kids are still hoping something can be done but I'm worried that it may be too late.

Were having loads of fun with Tims brother. He is constantly going to Mom for money(and getting it) and now wants to have power of atty. for the finances. No way that is going to happen.
I can't believe how greedy he can be.:(

Oh, Beccy.:( I will be praying for all of you. I am so, so sorry.:(

Oh, Beccy! I just said a prayer for your mother-in-law that this mass is benign.

Please keep us posted?

I hope all is going well. Please keep us updated. Let your Mom know we are thinking of her.

Prayers said. It's always a bummer when a tumor gets missed....it happens all too often but I think that's the nature of medicine. The docs don't always start with the worst case scenario.

In any case, prayers headed your way. Please do update when you are able.

Prayers said for your MIL kejoda. :(

BIG prayers for your MIL, beccy. Please update us when you know more.

God bless,

Prayers and good wishes for your family. We've just been through this with my MIL. She had a portion of her lung removed in April. She is doing great and no radiation or chemo needed. The best advice I can give you is get her a second opinion at a good cancer hospital. We've been through the cancer with a few family members. I'm lucky to have one of the best cancer hospitals not too far from us that has saved both my inlaws. Had they stayed with the local hospital like they wanted I don't think they would be here now. In fact the short time they were treated by the hospital closest to them they did more harm than good.
