i delivered ds8 at 37 weeks, and i think ds4 wound up being 39 weeks (they kept changing his due date back and adjusting the planned c-section date to be 37 weeks, but if you count from the lkmc, it was 39 weeks.) :confused3

anyway, they were both 8+ lbs, so i can't imagine having two of those at once, OY! good thing you're young and healthy! :thumbsup2

Both of my kids were over 8 pounds too... Frelan was like.. :scared: You are going to be SO uncomfortable with 14 pounds of baby inside you!:rotfl2: Yeah. Thats gonna SUCK!

the thing i thought was funny ... well, maybe funny isn't the right word... is that everyone talked about how uncomfortable that last month is. well, my last month was really just a few weeks since i delivered at 37 weeks, right? but i was dying around week 33! :lmao:

i don't know if it's just that mental checking down that last month (because we knew the delivery date by then) or what. i would have been a blubbering mess if they made me go full term after all!

gotta run and feed the kids before ds8 and dh dash off to basketball practice. i'll check back later! :)

I know it. Im scared at the thought of going past 36 weeks.. I went to 38 with Mikalah, and 40 with Alex.... I was great with Alex... right up until birth. After I had Mikalah I felt so much relief right after her birth. It was heaven! I about floated to bathroom for my shower. :rotfl2:

My babies weigh 3 and a half pounds EACH!!

As long as everyone is healthy, and such.. WELL. I DONT have to deliver in the operating room, UNLESS they suspect something will go wrong with baby B.

AND I dont have to have an epidural, but they DO suggest it, because a breech extraction can be very.. uncomfortable. :crazy2: Sounds like it!

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Two thumbs up for two nice sized aliens.
That's awesome news!

I'm so glad that you can deliver in a regular OB room, I think it would be added stress to be in an OR to deliver.

Breech extraction? Yeah that sounds unpleasant to the ear. :scared:
At least you have had "experience" , docs are more inclined to let things progress naturally when you have had prior births.

My midwife was contemplating a trip to the OR for "placenta removal" after N. Freaked me out and she agreed it's not something she wanted to do. Right after she said it.. things "moved" right along. ewww :crazy2:

I remember it taking awhile with J too, but it was a teaching case that round (family practice resident, midwife, and OB.....plus an OB nurse, and a respose team standing by to suction J due to meconium... it was crowded in my room!)

I know!! Im all aflutter right now. I know things can change quickly, but right now.. Im so happy with where we are and how things are looking.

Yeesh. Placental removal? That sounds as unpleasant as breech extraction. :lmao:

I have never seen a placenta.. and Im good with that. I had a friend that had a baby in Alaska.. In a very rural Native American hospital. She was completely out of it when she had her baby, they asked if she wanted to see the placenta. She said yes. :scared: YUCK! :lmao: Frelan said it was disgusting.. and looked like a big hunk of meat.

Ohhh... ANd she said that they were practicing breathing already!!:cool1:

That's good that they are getting in those practice breaths.
It's a good indicator of healthy development. :)

:goodvibes I know! They are just looking so good. I NEVER thought we would make it this far.

On another note.. I talked to my mom today. I think she was trying to talk us into taking a cruise with her. In MAY. :scared: With the whole family!! :confused3 I could have been wrong, but she sure sounded like she wanted us to come.

Had to help hubby finish up treatment, walking back to the bedroom I notice the cat speeding by me.. with a guilty look on her furry face. :scared: Not a good sign!

Yep, I was right.. she had bit the line that was draping across our bed. Comforter is wet from used dialysate. ARGH!:crazy2: yuck!

Hubby is shivering and burning up.. his temp is 100.7 :guilty: Lungs are clear, no cough, no sniffle.. not sure what is going on in his system right now.
His standard order is to head to the hospital if over 101 temp.

For now we will watch and see.. he's taking meds, bundled in a blanket and resting in the recliner. He has one last day with kids this week, Friday is a non student contact day for grading. He does have a clinic visit in the afternoon tomorrow, but I know nephrologists don't like dealing with non kidney illness.

That blows. Im sorry he is sick. You put your foot down and MAKE him get better, darn it.

:p
wow! hmmm... That's a little too soon. ??? Even with a singleton I would hesitate about taking a newborn on a cruise.

Yeah.. no kidding! especially to Mexico. :crazy2: Im good. I dont think I will be feeling like doing much when they are just a few weeks old. Much less taking a trip.

I KNOW! Darn him for letting those germy snotty tweens shed their mutant slime on him. :p

J was sick with some odd tummy bug a week ago, we're thinking it might be that.

But I worry about the salmenella link to peanut butter paste. They keep adding products to the recall list, it started here in MN. :sad2:
I grilled him on what he has eaten lately, anything at school or picked up anywhere.

As long as you guys are on the subject of sickness I'll throw in my story. Morgan has been throwing up nonstop since Monday night. low grade fever and can't keep a sip of water in her body. So sad.

Awww.. Poor baby. :grouphug: I hope she gets better really soon!

Nope. I had to run and feed the beast. Lucky me, huh?:rotfl2:
