Okay... FINE. I am going to start cleaning I guess. If everyone else is knocking off for the night! Later gators!

Hey.. Do you know anything about those mini lap tops that are all the rage now? I had never heard of them until the past month or. Anyhoo... I was looking at them, but I dont know if they are totally useless, or what. :confused3 I dont know anything about them.

I got one a few months ago for travel, they are great. DW watches movies on them, and I use it for email/boards etc. light weight and very versitle.

Have you noticed the sales at Target lately?

Read a recent article that Target was lowering many prices to lure in customers, driving up their sales. Walmart actually made gains last quarter, while Target as a direct competitor (and slightly higher end products in comparison) has been losing sales.

:thumbsup2 Groovy. I am getting my mom a digital picture frame.. and filling it with pics of the kids. She is going to love it! Im thinking about sending my crazy mil on a nice vacation to a padded room for a while. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

:rotfl2: Padded room hmm, where do you buy one of those?
I can see it now as being a big business, I will call it www.paddedRus.com , OR would chesticle challenged women be looking for padded bras find my webstore by mistake? hmmmmmm?

Those are cool! My sister got one for my parents last year and they still don't know how to use it.
Which is why I've put off buying one for my mom, remember the DVD player that sat in a box for over a year? :sad2:

Got a funny call today.
Someone at Mpls schools called looking for E.
Me: He's at work.
MPS: oh, umm uhhhh
Me: But I can take a message.
MPS: I'm calling to offer him a contract at _________ Magnet school.
Me: oh! Well that's where he is now. (Did I hear that right, contract? did she say contract? )
MPS: oh?! Okay I'll just call him there.
Me: okay. ( trying not to laugh in glee )

:goodvibes
Hubby calls later: Hi so uhhhhhh.
Me: Heard you got a contract.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Good thing he has made an excellent impressionon the prinicipal this week. He almost didn't get the job. :scared:
Prinicipal and district met today to decide the fate of the tenured teacher. District was not going to okay a long leave of absence for the other teacher. Prinicpal said, I don't want her back.
District staff said too bad, you don't get to decide.

They talked some more to the tenured teacher, she doesn't want to come back. She is planning to go to college this year, so district granted her the leave.

WHEW!

Thank goodenss, I've had enough of the soap opera drama of it all.

I looked into the medical insurance issue too.. Thankfully our state has a stop gap in place to help people who are disabled and coming off of Social Security due to "gainful employment". He is still considered disabled, they may even help pay his premium/ copays with his private insurance.. ahhhh much better, I was trying to wrap my head around the 20% copays. :scared1:

B. That is great news...wow...did they give him a good contract...I was hoping he would knock them out with the kids...what a great Christmas gift...
:teacher: :teacher:    :teacher:

I am so close to being done Christmas shopping...yea.....I will probably finish up next weekend and watch everyone else run, run, run....:thumbsup2

I only have a gift card and jeans left to get the boys, DD is done, SIL, done, teacher gift cards-done, nephews almost done, just have to pick up something to go with their gift card, ... DH, almost done....I picked him up most of his stuff last month, and now informs me he wants an Air comp., so black friday at sears is my place. And last, my annual donation to Catholic Social Services...it helps pay for the Christmas orphans holiday field trips...

so, that leaves the person I draw from the hat next thursday, (and DH), and my inlaws....

This weekend, I dared anyone to make plans, you can't even get sick...the lights will be put up, and the tree will be positioned in the great room, anyone attempting to avoid the day of work, will be sentenced to doing more than their fair share...WHILE I WATCH...

(can you say delivery for dinner)

Crap, I just remembered, I also need to run to the zoo and take care of membership....we take everyone to festival of lights the day after thanksgiving...

anywho, great news B, hope all are doing well...............

sorry I missed you, had to call my sis and of course we chatted for about an hour.. my ear hurts now

princess: Hello! My hubby got a half day at work last night.. It is supposed to start their partial unemployment thing. That he doesnt need... At least not next week.. Because he will be one of the guys that are actually working. Thank goodness. I think they are having 2 or 3 guys on each shift. HUGE relief people. I cant even tell you. Now.. I just hope they have work though Christmas.

Boo! :rotfl:

Congratulations, Staley Hubby and G Hubby! :woohoo:

I have a few minutes here before I run DS8 to his computer class. He's bummed that tonight is the last class, but eager to continue on with the learning. :thumbsup2

I had DS4's preschool conference today. He is doing VERY WELL in all areas! (Even behavior!) :lmao:

She said he's a very sweet, kind boy, and even though he's very energetic and gets "silly" at times, he's a good boy. :goodvibes

She said curriculum wise he's very bright, doing better even than the same-aged classmates. She said he's especially good with math, which I think at this point is counting and doing simple arithmetic using beads or some other object.

She said he loves learning "practical life" skills, and he even demo'd his skills when he spilled something during the conference, then cleaned it up. My jaw dropped, because he sure doesn't do that at home. :headache:

Anyway, I was very pleased, and bragged to DH about it when he called this afternoon. His response? "I always knew that kid was too smart for his own good." :lmao:

Excellent!!! its always nice to know other people notice our little geniuses... huh?:lmao:

To be honest, I always kind of hold my breath at conference time with him. I never know what he's behaved like, or what they'll say about it! :scared1: :lmao:

Especially since he started the year off on the wrong foot with the one kid, I just wasn't sure what to think.

Oh, and apparently at circle time, when they talk about things, or have show & tell? He's shy! :rotfl2:
