I'm doing well, but we have about 3 feet of snow here. It's been snowing for 1-1/2 weeks now and we have another storm coming in tomorrow that is expected to dump another 3-12 inches. Hopefully it will warm up this weekend.

I saw that on the news. You guys are getting BLASTED! I'm glad your airports are slowly opening up. Seems everyone is stuck. Poor things.

Dizzy is pretty buried under too. Crazy. Its been cold and rainy for us too, comparatively of course. Kinda Christmas like weather which is nice but then I want it to be 75 again and sunny the rest of the winter. :thumbsup2

I'm pretty excited about it. I sure could use some sunshine. Even the kids are getting sick of the snow.

Heck I would settle for 45 and rainy!

yeah, thats the lovely thing about living here. Everyone has a story about escaping some massive snow storm and finally drew the line and moved away from it. I enjoyed the snow as a kid but now I cannot imagine living in it. I like to visit but dont want to clean up after it.

Ack, Morgan wants more ice cream so I gotta run. Hopefully after she's done I can get on here more tonight. She got her tooth pulled today. Luckily this time not because of a bad cavity but to make room for the incoming adult tooth behind it. So now she is in a lot of pain and only cookies and cream ice cream will do.

I'll hopefully talk to you later if you are on tonight. Gonna tend to my patient.

I've been getting up at 4am so I can head into work with DH. My car is still down at the bottom of the hill in a parking lot. There is no way I'm driving up and down this hill. My scary ride down the hill last Thursday was enough for me, my suv was sideways and lots of folks were in the ditch.:scared1:

We rarely get more than 1-2 days of snow in a winter. I need to go eat dinner, but I'll probably be back on later. Give Morgan a big Hyena Hug from me, hope she's feeling better soon.:thumbsup2

I never made it back last night as I fell asleep. Its 5:40 this morning and I've been up for an hour. I think you guys are all an hour behind me now. Well, except Bernice and Dizzy of course.

Well...it looks like my lovely snow is all melting away. Its raining in Lakewood.. :sad1:

Great pictures Shawna!! You are hot stuff!

Good morning, hyenas!

It has been snowing like crazy here all morning. I have no idea how much MORE snow we got last night, but it's a bunch. You can barely tell anyone ever has been through our front yard, walkway and driveway because they are all snowed over once again.

Naturally, the kids are itching to go out in it again. I wouldn't mind it, but then I'd need to go out with them, and I just have so much to do today! My family always comes up to celebrate Christmas Eve with us; this is when we open presents as a family, it's a Scandinavian tradition. But with all the snow, we aren't sure anyone will make it. :guilty:

My mom said this morning that they're getting a bit of rain (they live about 45 mins. south of us), so who knows? We're going to check in in a couple hours and see if we go for it, or reschedule for Friday.

And today is my little nephew Etienne's birthday, he is one year old. Since he was born overseas we weren't sure exactly what his birthdate was, but found out a few weeks ago that he's actually a Christmas Eve baby. :goodvibes

Anyway, so about all that stuff I have to do? You know... housecleaning, present-wrapping and the like? Guess I'd best get to it. :rotfl:

Hope you all have a fabulous day!

Merry Christmas! :santa:

WHAT a morning... So we make it to the dealership fine, and they get the van in and start inspecting it.... and inspecting it... and inspecting it... Then I go potty, and I come out. Frelan looks at me, and tells me to sit down. WHAT???? It was just the battery. :lmao: So... they popped a new one in, and off we went. Gotta love a car still under warranty. :lmao: We made it to Target, to get the last minute stuff for the girl, and DANG. Totally wiped out. I managed a little.... But hey, she wont care. We took the kids to McDonalds for some nuggets for mama, and a little play time.. Now. I need a nap. :lmao: I feel like I ran a freaking marathon today.

and I STILL need a ham for Christmas. :scared1:
Thank goodness it was only a battery! :thumbsup2

I have some really exciting news...but I don't know if I should post it on here. But then again odds are it would be fine. It involves my sister and I know she doesn't really have time to get on here, but what if she did and then found out? How about if I put a disclaimer...DEAR SHERY, IF YOU ARE READING THIS, DONT!!! IT'S A SURPRISE AND READING THIS WOULD RUIN IT FOR YOU. SO JUST TURN YOUR LITTLE COMPUTER OFF AND GO DO SOMETHING ELSE. Ok, now I've covered my rumpkin.

My sister told her DH that she wanted to go on a cruise with me for her Christmas present. So he called me today to see if I was available on January 30-Feb 2 for a Bahamas cruise (well, DUH, that's a no brainer, of course I'm available for any and all tropical cruises offered!). I'm so amped!!!    I just don't know if the Bahamas are ready for both of us at once.:lmao:
WOWW! Lucky ducky! Couldn't happen to a more deserving person!!

One smilie says it all!!!

Now that is pretty bad when kids are getting tired of it! :sad2:

Gee Alex, I hope someone shows up!! :grouphug:

I would like to rant for a moment about grocery stores...Safeway in particular.
I don't know it just made me a little upset that the stores encourage that type of shopping for junk food.
So why don't they have specials like...buy 2 pounds of apples, get 2 pounds free? Buy 3 cans of mixed nuts, get 3 free? Buy 1 bag of boneless, skinless chicken breast, get 1 free?

OK, rant done.
There was a couple that did a 30 day experiment, to eat (vegan diet) for only $1 a day. Over the course of the experiment they found how hard it was to eat healthy at lower cost. Junk food, boxed, canned, premade food is cheap.. tantalizingly cheap for those on limited incomes. At the end of the 30 days, they decided to do research on how much money does it take to eat healthy in America. It Will be an interesting read when they finish.

My local grocery chain (Cub, they own Albertson's too) typically has free one pound grapes each week-- never mind that they taste icky right now out of season. But they often have deals on "real food" and organics. If they can do it.. Safeway can too! Write a letter and complain. (possible score freebies )

And now for recaps.. these were funny!

Holy Crap is that Alison I see above me? I'm not alone?

Well I don't know if I would call me Holy Crap, but I guess I've been called worse.

Hey, being called Holy something is better than the alternative.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I've missed this little chatter of silly remarks..

:goodvibes Hope you all have a beautiful, warm and wonderful holiday. :goodvibes

It's official, hubby did break a bone in his hand. :sad2:

Only MY husband would break a bone playing a game of mercy... :lmao:

Doc missed it when she first looked at x ray.
Examined his hand, noting pain in wrist too. Went back to check the wrist bones on Xray.. viewed the digital x ray on a larger screen this time..

A-HA! found it! Hairline fracture of the 5th metatarsal.. just as suspected.

He has it in a temp splint with ace bandage for now.
Waiting on referral call back for hand specialist.

This is his dialysis acess arm, can't have a cast or anything occlude his acess site. Doc said that the hand surgeon would likely make a molded splint with velcro straps. Remove during dialysis and wear long term until the bone heals.

How's the weather where you are? DBF and I will be in SD for New Year's. Wednesday - Friday. Then on to Anaheim Friday afternoon - Saturday night.

Its REALLY cold today (in the 60's) and we will be getting a little rain tonight and tomorrow, but then it should warm up by the time you get out here! low to mid 70's!
