Another trip? Am I crazy?

So i need some opinions.

We just got back March 2nd from 9 days at SSR. We got bumped on the way home so we have $354 in Southwest funds. We also have AP's (that expire in June) and some points left.

We're considering going for 4 days in May. Am I nuts or what?

Here is what our trip would look like
May 8-12 at SSR (but maybe waitlist for OKW)
Flight with voucher, AP's and Magical Express (Maybe trying priceline for a car). Super cheap trip....but we just got back. We're planning to go for our honeymoon in Feb, and for a weekend in Dec to see all the Christmas stuff.

Would you go?

So it doesn't turn into a credit/debt thread, we would be paying cash and we have no debt to pay.

DH and I are going in April, I'm going in October with a friend, then again in January with my kids and their friends, and I'm already thinking about next April! Nuts???? Heck no, and if it is nuts, considering all the things we could do that are nuts - this is a good nuts

We're kind of in the same position, as far as HAVING to go. We forgot to bank our points (honest!), we had SW credits from our August trip, and APs expiring soon, as well as a DDE card. Didn't take us long to decide "Aw shucks...gotta go!" And darn, we can't bring the kids!

I guess I'm just in shock for a few reasons:

1. We just got back....twice in 2 months?
2. It's so affordable because of the AP's, the points, the voucher and the DDE card
3. That we actually have enough points to go now, Dec and Feb!

I'm just so suprised that it is actually possible! Plus, I used to be in credit debt and this seems like an impulsive thing....but it's cash.

let's think here about budget--and good for you for getting out of debt!

1st--anyone can use your SWA credits--not just you. So, for your wedding, would you use them or anyone else in your family that it would really help out financially so that they can attend your wedding?

2nd-are you staying at DVC sun-thur?

If these are free flights that you really don't need, and you are using a low amount of points--then go for it---sometimes, crazy spur of the moment things are great---and, it's not impulsive if you have have weighed the pros/cons and considered how it affects your budget.

In this case, you have "won" free tickets and your AP cost nothing more, DVC points sun-thur in May are very economical and you don't need a car. It's totally budget friendly, as long as you can limit your expensive meals--maybe ONE special dinner and the rest counter service.

But I will chip in my two cents.

Q: Would I go on an almost free trip to my favorite place in the world?...hmm..thats a tough one...:
A: No way... If I were you I would totally randomly transfer my extra points and the flight to..I dont know ...some guy named Bob in NJ. Its best to not overindulge.
This is exactly what we are doing in May then in Oct. Family of 4 in May and then we planned a trip at BWV in oct. with deluxe dining for just DW and I. We had to use the annual passes one more time b4 in ran out in late oct. Besides I bought the DVC Golf membership and have to get one more bargain golf day in!
Enjoy your trip, unless you decide to give it to me.. ahem!...I mean some random guy named bob in NJ

Hey we went on our first DVC trip Aug. 07 for 8 nights, we went back for another DVC trip in Nov. for another 8 nights. THEN...we went back again this Jan. for 5 nights. Oh and did I mention we went in Jan. 07 which lead us to buy into DVC!!!!! IT IS AN ADDICTION AND IT IS WONDERFUL!!!!!! Oh and we are going back for 13 nights in July and I just booked another 7 nights THIS NOV. So please don't ever feel guilty!!!! SO we will have used our AP's for 4 trips.

I've booked the plane tickets because worst case scenario they become vouchers again if we cancel. I called MS and they have several studios available but I'm still nervous to book. I have an August UY and if we book and then decide after March 31 not to go then I can't bank my points and we'd have to find another time to go (I know, I wish all problems could be so fun!) So I'm waiting a few more days to see if we still want to go or if this is just an impulsive thing. You know, got back a week and a half ago....having withdrawal symptoms....need to go back type of thing.

Oh it has! He is not interested in the new KT at Contemporary though. I said I'd like to sell our points and buy there when they start selling...but no go! Hey I can live with adding on at SSR. Good lord, I started with 150 then by the end of the call with my guide I had gone up to 180, then I added 75 more on....and now we're thinking of more. Hey, we're going to need more when we have kids so we can stay in a 1bedroom or 2bedroom. What's so funny is I alwasy said "Hey a studio will be fine for me and my family" Not really thinking that anymore!
