Another Transferring POints Question

If a member transfers points into your DVC account, are they available for you to book a room with them that same day? Is there any delay?

We had points transferred from a member into our account. We had to call the following day to make the reservation.

from the Points Transfer Rules 101 thread:

"d. Transfers are only processed immediately if you are working with your Current Use Year, and the transferrer and recipient are in the same Year of their Use Year. (For Ex. if done today, a transfer from Dec03 UY to Jun03 UY is immediate, but from Dec03 UY to Apr04 UY needs to be done manually.) This is the only time that an automated Transfer Confirmation Number is generated. All other Transfers have to be done manually, and can take up to a few days to be completed."

(keep in mind the above info was given to me by only one MS CM, so it's possible there are other circumstances where transfers are processed right away.)

from my own personal experience, a manual transfer can be done as fast as the same day, or as slow as 3 days later.

I transferred some points to a member in December and was on the phone with MS the same time he was and they saw the points come through and told him they were available then.

is there a thread that anyone knows of regarding transferring ownership of our Disney Vacation Club points to someone else? We have a close friend who wants our points, wants to purchase them I mean. We, of course, would like to avoid the 12% charge that the brokers charge. I couldn't find the info in the guidebook, and couldn't search because that function has been disabled. Is there any info available that anyone is aware of like the transferring points 101 thread?
