Another transfer question...

My UY is Dec...
I had some Feb 2009 points transferred in already.
Can I still have points from Oct 2008 transferred in?


Technically Feb 2009 would be in my Dec 2008 UY.
But they are the other persons Feb 2009 UY.
Does my transfer period run Dec 08-Dec 09...
Or is it strictly what Year the points are?
Still Learning The Ropes...

I called MS and they said I can't do another transfer until Dec 2009.

They said it goes by your UY and doesn't matter what UY the points are.

I really didn't think that was how it worked.

Maybe I should call back and ask again...

This is a huge grey area. I would definitley call back and make it clear that you have done your 09 transfer but still want to do your 08 transfer. You should be prepared to do the transfer as soon as you find a CM willing to do it for you. It won't help to get the answer you need but then have to call back and get yet again a different answer. If your UY is December, than you are still in your 2008 UY and the transfer you just completed would be considered your 2008 UY transfer. The next time you can transfer is your 2009 UY, which doesn't start for you until December.

The way I understand it is that you are allowed one transfer in/out per YOUR UY, regardless of what UY the points are that you want transferred in. Not that I wouldn't call back to see if they will let you so good luck!

I agree with Suzanne that you should call MS back . . . you've got nothing to lose making the call and as she said there tends to sometimes be a gray area. Just keep in mind that what you've initially been told may stand.

AFAIK, If the transfer of points into your account occurred on Dec 1 2008 or later then MS will treat that transfer as your 1 transfer for 2008 UY (which is from 12/1/2008 - 11/30/2009 ) but I think if what you want is another transfer in of points to use for a reservation AFTER DEC 1 2009 because you want to take advantage of those transferred points 11 month booking window then MS may allow it because you would not be utilizing those transferred points until during your 2009 Use Year (and if allowed then this transfer would count as your 1 transfer for your Dec 1 2009 - 11/30/2010 Use Year)
