Another Towel Spinoff

No.....at holidays will hang a themed towel over the others in the bathroom that nobody uses the bath towels. But it is just in the middle over the others, nothing like those

Nope, all our towels are there to be used.

No I don’t.

And this is what it’s come to. Us discussing towels. 😂😂

No, not like this. I do have colour-coordinated hand towels hanging in each bathroom, and put out themed ones at Christmas, but they’re definitely for drying hands. In the main bath I roll the towels and arrange them decoratively because I have no linen closet, but they are also for everyday use.

:confused3 I do wonder, in those bathrooms pictured, what you’re supposed to dry your hands on? I have a friend who removes the hand towels from her powder room during parties and just leaves a roll of paper towel in by the sink.

My mother had fancy towels in the powder room, but it was OK for guests to use them.

Although one time somebody got grease or something on them and it wouldn’t wash out. She wasn’t pleased.

My aunt has towels hanging sort of decoratively on a towel rack in the downstairs bathroom, "for guests." I don't know what 'guests' she's talking about since nobody who uses that bathroom dares to wipe their hands or dry off with one of them. She'd freak out, but then she *is* of that generation who did such things.

Upstairs in the bathroom that me and my cousin use we don't bother with that kind of stuff.

Wow, I'm glad to see common sense prevailing here? I have never understood the point of a towel that you can't use - it's a towel! My mom had some in her kitchen, and she would get mad if I used them. It's ridiculous. Things are meant to be used for their intended purpose.

It reminds me of years ago, when I bought my first new car, and I wanted to drive it up to Chicago for a weekend. A friend siad, "Are you sure you want to put those kind of miles on your new car?" "Well, yeah, that's what I bought it for - so it can take me where I want to go." I'm still driving that car too - though it's actually about time for a new one. The new one will be used just as well.

Were you just drying clean hands? I will admit to getting annoyed when my family uses the kitchen towels to wipe off messy hands. That’s what the sink and soap are for, then you use the dish towels to dry your hands. No need for them to get messy and gross.

I think it was just for drying hands - but it shouldn't matter. A towel is a towel. I would expect that kitchen towels get messy. They can be washed.

My house growing up with a literal OCD neat freak mom.

My house as an adult - bwahaha

My mom and grandma had the disposable hand towels (paper) when there was a party or the holidays. So, I tend to do that as well. We’ve been to parties or gatherings and people had one or 2 hand towels in the bathroom to use and they get super wet and germ ridden if people do not properly wash their hands.

I do have decorative hand towels in the guest bathroom along with regular cloth hand towels. We rarely use that bathroom as it’s only the 2 of us. Nothing fancy in the en suite bathroom

One of our friends have the fancy towels like in the picture and then you stand there, okay are they ones to use? I would be afraid to touch them. LOL.

My mother has them. She also uses fancy disposable towels in the guest bathroom, and they're so nice no one wants to use them. Sigh.

P.S. She also never let us use the "fancy" placemats she puts on the kitchen table. We have to move them every time we eat.
