Another ticket question - Ultimate Park Hopper passes

We are staying at the Beach Club Villas in Sept. by renting points for a BCV member.
Can I buy Ultimate Park Hopper passes when I get to the BCV?
Can I buy them in advance? I think they are cheaper if you buy them in advance, right?

You can buy them from the Disney Store if you have one close to you they are cheaper there you can buy them online also

Ultimate Park Hopper Passes
Ultimate Park Hopper (UPH) passes provide unlimited admission to the four major parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, and Animal Kingdom), the water parks, Pleasure Island and DisneyQuest for the length of your stay. These passes become active when you check in (and you can check in early if you wish, though your room may not be ready yet) and expire at midnight on the day you check out of the hotel.

Ultimate Park Hopper passes are available exclusively to resort guests staying on-site at the official Disney resorts. The advance purchase price applies when you add the UPH passes to your hotel room reservation prior to arrival. You can also purchase these passes at check-in, at a higher price.

DVC members cannot buy them in advance for points stays. You may get the member 10% discount but it is not guaranteed to renters. Never hurts to ask though.

The Ultimate Park Hopper is offered only to WDW resort guests. I cannot be pre-purchased at the Disney Store.

Guests reserving rooms through CRO or WDTC can pre-purchase the UPH at a lower price, and have the purchase of the passes linked to their resort ressie.

However, because of the unique nature of the DVC program, DVC members CANNOT pre-purchase the UPH. They are still eligible to purchase the UPH at check-in, but must then pay the resort price (as listed by tigger2005).

That said, DVC members DO get a 10% discount on the UPH. Technically the discount should not be available to those renting points, but the resort CMs do little to investigate further. As long as you are staying on points, they will typically allow the discount.

Thus, if you wanted a 6-day UPH, the total price would be $301.93 ($335.48 less 10%).

When purchasing the UPH at check-in, CMs will usually let you "drop" either the arrival day OR departure day from the UPH. Other than that, it's designed to be a Length of Stay pass. If you have a reservation for 8 nights, you need to purchase the UPH for 8 nights (or 7 if you drop one day).

If you are looking for the lowest park per day cost - regular hoppers purchased in advanced through the Disney Store or AAA or a ticket broker will probably give you a lower cost.

(We pay a few dollars extra a day and get UPHs - then I don't need to worry about finding hoppers with unused days on them from trip to trip and my tickets become a sunk cost - so I can spend the day at the pool and go to Epcot for dinner. But price isn't the deciding criteria for us.)

we are staying at CBR for 2 nights , but booked this as Disney Collection because we couldn't get a studio anywhere these two nights. Can we still get the DVC discount for the UPH for this amount of time. Oh, we will be arriving in the wee hours of the morning so techincally we will only be able to use the tickets 2 days. Do you think this is feasible? Thus, the dilemna of unexpected trips. Love WDW and couldn't pass up the opportunity to stay even 2 nights.

In this case I think you're out of luck. The member web site specifically says:

"Offer available only to Members staying at a Disney Vacation Club Resort."

You could always try at check-in, but since the offer is limited to DVC resorts, the CMs at CBR probably won't even know now to apply the discount.

DVC MS definitely won't be able to help you.

You could try calling CRO and see if they can access your reservation. If so, they MIGHT be able to add the UPH onto your reservation at the pre-purchase rates. I guess it just depends on how CRO and DVC interface with one another as to whether CRO can "see" your reservation.

Just remember that when pre-purchasing the passes, it must be for the entire duration of your stay. With a 2-night stay, your only pre-purchase option is the 3 day/2 night UPH. If you wait until you check-in, you won't get any discounting but you would be able to "drop" your arrival or departure day from the pass if you so desire.

Remember-- what you don't use on some can be used FOREVER.

We end up spending time at the pool. I have passes from a few years ago that are still good. And the prices were cheaper. If you get length of stay package tis gone when you are.
