So, if I purchase the MYW Prem. Plus tix from Hotwire, can I upgrade 1 to an AP if I decide I want to do that? (I probably wont, but....)

Ok, that's it,
Wendi :cheer2:

This sounds like a good question for GoldenOldie.

From what I understand, you can upgrade but you should do it before the passes have been used. If you use the passes then you would have to upgrade to PAPs instead of just APs.

The whole process of upgrading tickets was never very clear but with the MYW tickets, it's even more confusing. SnackyStacky has the best explanation that I've seen so far and it's in a sticky at the top of the Theme Parks & Attractions Board. You may want to read it to see if you can get an answer there.

It's always easier to do it prior to the ticket being used at all but it can be done anytime within the 14 day window. The AP will then be back dated to the first day the original ticket was used. But the most important thing that will make a HUGE difference to Wendi's plan is whether she uses any of the plus visits prior to doing the upgrade. If she does, she cannot get the regular AP. She will only be able to upgrade to the PAP.

I always thought the process prior to MYW was very clear but maybe that's just me. ;)

If you buy from Hotwire and then decide to upgrade, my understanding is that you will only get credit for the price that HOTWIRE paid Disney for the ticket. Obviously, that will be less than the price Hotwire will charge you. So you will end up paying more for the AP than if you just bought it in the first place.

Not a good idea to buy from Hotwire unless you are sure you won't want to upgrade. JMHO. YMMV.

Best wishes -

We "upgraded" 7 day PHP's in January. We paid $302 for them, and that was the credit given on them! I believe they are sold at their purchase price. This wasn't the BEST way to have done it, but it worked for us because we wanted the use of DQ for my grandchildren.

You must have bought the PHP tickets from Disney if you got full credit for what you paid for them. It's different if you buy the tickets from a discount broker - then you only get credit for what the broker paid to Disney, not what you paid the broker.

No. I purchased them from hotwire. For $302.00. Was credited by Disney for $302.00 when I purchased my 10 day MYW passes at the Epcot area to the right of the entrance. Guest relations, I think. I ASSUME that I was credited this amount, because this was the whole sale price. Howard, who helped me was quite perturbed at the gal at the regular ticket window for not doing it.

Oh thank goodness. I bought my MYW tickets from another discount broker but it sounds like I can still upgrade to an AP?

We haven't used our passes at all yet and we'll need the AP before we check into the resort (we got the AP rate). So it sounds like all I need to do is head to a ticket window before checking in?

I tried the regular window and the gal there sent me to the other window. I will say that it was irritating listening to him pick on that poor girl! This was in January, and the whole MYW thing was pretty new!

He apologized to me for only being able to refund that amt. and was surprised that was what I had paid. It took a bit too, be warned. By the time he got thru all 6 tickets it was 1/2 an hour at least.

Good luck!
